Burton Schroeder, Portland, Ore., Nativity's first full-time pastor will be guest speaker at both 8 and 11 a.m. Worship Services on Sunday, Dec. 9. ENGAGEMENT The engagement of Miss Linda Detwiler, daughter of the Burneal "Bud" Detwilers, Highland Shores, to Frank Sweeney, Jr., of McHenry, was announced recently by her parents. What a surprise!!!! CHORAL PROGRAM Several Wonder Lakers were in the Christmas choral program held at the McHenry high school held this past weekend. They were Carol Aissen and Treava Zeek, Highland Shores; Harriet Bell, Jacqueline Schau, Paul Steffan and Pastor Thomas Johnson. Bye for now, see you next weekend, should be an exciting weekend for us with Nativity's anniversary banquet and also Pastor Schroeder's return to the Lake. MANY PARTIES SCHEDULED FOR HOLIDAY SEASON The first of many pre* Christmas parties will take place in the Johnsburg Community club hall on Monday, Dec. 11. The junior members of St. Agatha court 777, will gather there beginning at 6 p.m. The evening will start out with a pot-luck supper and the members attending are asked to bring one dish per family to pass. All members of the court are invited to participate in the holiday celebration, but preschool youngsters must be accompanied by their mother or an older sister. Sometime later, good old Santa Claus has promised to take out time from his busy, busy schedule to stop by and distribute the exchange gifts. Pre-schoolers through second grade^re--asked to bring a twenty-Jave cent gift, the third and fourth graders - a fifty cent gift, for the fifth, sixth and seventh grade girls a seventy- five cent gift will be exchanged and a dollar gift will be exchanged between the eighth grade girls and older. If you are a member and you wish to attend, please remember the date is next Monday, startingat 6 p.m., and please bring the required gift and a dish to pass. The evening will be brought to a close at 8:30 p.m. Have fun. The members of the Johnsburg Public School P.T.A. are reminded that there will be no monthly meeting in the month of December. Young Scott and I were pleasantly surprised with an early Christmas present. Jim and the other children gifted us with a plane trip to Florida for a week. So the two of us will be taking off on Thursday of this week. It will be my first experience in the air as well as Scott[s, although he may be a little too young to comprehend what's goingon right now, I'm really exjited. We will be ytpittog during the 'week with jack and Ollie Keenan in Pompano Beach. ^e-.sure to buzz me after next week and I should be ready and willing to take all kinds of news items.
