SANTA ARRIVES 5 p.m., DEC. 17 Word has been received from jolly Old St. Nicholas that he plans to honor .the small fry of the village with an appearance on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. in the beachhouse. The wee ones are asked to prepare lists so they know just what to request. Santa's visit is under the direction of the Cullom-Knoll association. Have no fear, we shall run a reminder next week. APOLOGY ON SCHOOL BOARD Through an omission, it was not printed last week, that the coffee hour at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Lingeman was held Monday, Dec. 4. There will be NO gathering on Dec. 16, following the referendum. However, this reporter has learned that the women in charge of the office, utilized the telephone to invite interested persons to the educational gathering, so that persons may cast an educated ballot. We sincerely regret the error and hope that it caused no inconvenience. The referendum will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, inthe beachhouse, with the polls opening at noon. Closing time is 7 p.m. FISH DERBY COMMITTEE MET TUESDAY Unfortunately, there were not enough members and officers present at the Cullom-Knoll to present a quorum, so no legal business could be conducted. However, the fish derby commitee agreed to meet at the home of the chairman, Bill Gleeson, last Tuesday. We'll have that report next wtok. Those present were scheduled to be Len Jensen, Ed Caron,. Jim Conway, A1 Kanak, Ray „ Lary, Ron Godina, Ken Betts, and Ray Fisher. Although he is a summer resident and only occupies his home on weekends, Frans 7-fenz has promised to lend his support during the derby. The derby will be held in Februrary. NEW CUSTODIAN FOR BEACHHOUSE We are pleased to report that William Klapperich has accepted the job of custodian of the beachhouse. There is no question as to his dependability, and we can rely on the building being ready for each and evgry gathering. If you have any questions about use of the beachhouse, see Mr. Klapperich. The Cullom-Knoll association is indeed fortunate to have obtained his services. A NOTE OF WARNING As the Christmas season approaches, many homes willjbe decorated for the occasion. In the past, we have had numerous reports ofvandalismo:curring. We sincerely hope that the youngsters in the community will find it in their hearts to enjoy the beauty which is arranged for everyone's enjqymont, and resist the temptation to destroy. Let us hear of no smashed bulbs or desecrated decorations this year!
