The members of the Young at Hearts are most grateful for the patronage and interest given their project. This support on the part of the people certainly gives encouragement to the members who worked so hard in preparing for this project. The Young at Heart Christmas pot-luck will be Wednesday, Dec.20 starting at 10 a.m. CHRIST THE JONG NEWS The get-acquainted parish plan is working out well. The last meeting was held in Indian Ridge. NATIVITY'S 15 TH ANNIVERSARY The banquet was an event that will be long remembered by those who attended. It was surprising to all how Pastor Schroeder remembered everybody's names after being gone from the Lake for almost seven years. It was- a pleasure to have Pastor Schroeder present for the fifteenth anniversary celebration. He became the first full-time pastor of Nativity in May 1953. He was instrumental in the initial growth of the congregation, the establishment of the first church in the house chapel, and the construction of the present structure. I'm sure the anniversary recalled many memories for all. TENDERFOOT CEREMONY Boy Scout Troop 145 of Wonder Lake opened its meeting with the Tenderfoot ceremony. Be Wise Shop In McHenry POST OFFICES TO REGISTER ALIENS DURING JANUARY The nation's 32,000 post offices will participate in the registration of about 3% million aliens next mqnth. UnderS the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 every post office is responsible for providing registration cards and turning the completed cards over to the Immigration and Naturalization Service. The cards must be picked up personally by registrants and they may be handed in to the post office when completed or turned in directly to Immigration and Naturalization offices. Post offices will accept the cards only until the end of January, the month in which the aliens are required to register. Those who have not registered by Jam 31 must go to Immigration and Naturalization offices to do so. Cards and all materials needed by post offices in the registration are being mailed to the offices this month, but registrants may not obtain the cards until January. Alien registrations have been increasing. In January, 1966, about 3.3 million alieitls registered, and in January, 1967, the total was about 3.4 million. Further increases are anticipated in 1968. The Post office department is reimbursed for its role in the registration by the Immigration and Naturalization Service at about 9 cents for each registrant. Aliens are not necessarily restricted to registration at their "home" post office. If away from home, they may register at a nearby post office. LOCAI- STYLE . . .
