" if- : Mwmm •X.& Honor Spring Grove Woman At a recent meeting of the board of directors of the Rockford Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Mrs. Louis Kagan of Spring Grove, immediate past president, was {presented with the gold and ruby National Council .. of Catholic Women President's pin by members of the board. She is the first president in the Rockford Diocese to be so honored. The pin was given as a personal gift by the women who served with Mrs. Kagan, as a tribute to her outstanding and successful term as president o^the Diocese Council of Cathie Women. During her two years as president, Catherine Kagan combined talent with dedication and dignity with humor, ijto make each meeting she chaired, and each gathering she attended an enjoyable experience. Auditions For Talented Teeps Tour Scheduled Auditions for the sixth annual Talented Teen Europe tour will be held Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Village hall, Itasca, according to George F. Koehnke, president of the organization. This is a student study tour designed for young people who would like to further their education during the summer. Students are coached in the performing arts, and they will perform before many live audiences while they tour Europe. Membership is open to singers, dancers, musicians,batontwirlers, artists, and novelty acts. OBSERVES BIRTHDAY Mike Freund of Richmond road celebrated his eightyeighth birthday anniversary with his family last week. He was surprized by a call from his daughter, Mrs. Mildred Garrett, of Carrollton, Ky. Mr. FreuncPs birthday is on the fifth and his daughter's birthday is the following day. Mr. Freund enjoys very good health. March Of Dimes Benefit Dance Planned Sunday, Only a few days left to make your plans for Mggest event of the year, &e annual March of Dinies teitafit dance at the New Place, Rt. 31, two miles north of Algonquin. The TAP committee has six full hours of entertainment planned on Sunday, Jan. 14, from 3 to 9p.m. Jerry G. Bishop of WCFL will make a guest appearance plus thirteen groups. Debby Dinham and Colleen, Drayer are co-chairmen for this McHenry county event with a group of teens in each community working on posters and publicity.
