After the business was completed the gals relaxed with a few games of bunco and table prizes were rapped in green too and to complete the image, all the prizes were green!! Somebody really had to be thinking. The major business on the agenda was the annual spring luncheon to be held on Wednesday, April 17, at the American Legion Home on Ringwood road. Serving will begin promptly at 12 noon with special attention paid to business people who wish to eat and leave in a short time. Cards will follow the luncheon. The male card players who will be home at the time are especially welcome to come for the luncheon and stay for the cards following. Tickets are available now from all the club members or from Lyda Radisch at 385-2754 The committee members consist of Helen Strandquist, kitchen chairman - Kay Luing, book chairm - Lyda Radisch, publicity and ticket chairman - Arlene Bartos, posters - and Celilia Oakford , donations. Flora Hagemann is president and Pearl Koester is general chairman. The committee wil 1 be calling all members in the near future for donations of favorite salads which are the most important part of the entire affair. GIRL SCOUT TROOP 320 March 7. We opened our meeting v-ith a flag ceremony given by Patrol 1. Sunday, March 10, was a very special date for Girl Scouts all over the world. It was Girl Scout sunday_. 1968! - In order to celebrate this special Girl Scout day, the Cadettes of this and surrounding communities organized the Mother- Daughter tea held at the Johnsburg Community club. The girls were asked to wear full dress uniform for the tea and for church services in the morning. Each girl attended her own church at the times specified. We chose Rae Dee Beno as troop 320's Color Guard. She represented our troop and carried the troop flag. Patrol 4 served as hostess at our meeting. Johnny Apple seed was sung as grace. We then had a short patrol meeting. Linda Apel, troop treasurer read off the names of the girls who are behind in dues. Please get your dues in on time. Roni Bierman filled requirements in the books badge. Debbie Stupey and Cindy Kamp filled requirements in hospitality. Cindy also gave a talk for Magic Carpet. Donna Humann gave a demonstration for Pets, Pen Pal and Books. Gina Rosio filled requirements for Dabbler. Cathy Mueller gave a demonstration for Sign of the Arrow. Judy Revak and Linda Apel filled requirements in hosajajpitality. We closed our meeting with taps and the retiring of the flag by Patrol 1. Respectfully submitted, Rae Dee Beno, Troop scribe. We had a great time at the tea. A magician entertained the Scouts and their Moms. The place was filled with people and it was fun to see so many girls wearing the different Scout uniforms. Our subdivision was represented by Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and a Senior. The leaders and committee mothers from each troop were introduced as were the Pipers from each troop. Our piper is Mary Beth Humann. BOY SCOUT TROOP 459 March 5. We opened the meeting with patrol corners, followed by the presentation of the colors, the scout oath, promise and the pledge of allegiance. There has been perfect attendance the last two weeks, which is very good. Also this week all the leaders were there. We had a Green Bar meeting Sunday at Mr. Rode's house. We ' plan the scouts activities for the future. March 16, the Green Bar is going to the Community House to wash and wax the floors. There will be a troop campout March 29-31. Also there will be a Parent's night March 19. This week we held elections for Order of the Arrow and the winners were Termore than death Fourtimes more likely --if you're 42. There are openings for new boys and any one who is interested in Cub Scouting is invited to attend the meeting. Cub Scouts are boys between ages of 8 and 11. Pack night is family night. Refreshments will be served and each den will provide some entertainment along the line of the theme for the month which is "Rivers of the World". BROWNIE TROOP 464 The hostess at the meeting last week was Kelly Flannigan who served doughnuts. Debbie Schabow and Cathy Humann from troop 41 came again to teach the Brownies songs that will be sung at the Mother- Daughter tea which was held last Sunday. The meeting ended with the magic tunnel. LITTLE LEAGUE Registration was held last week and we still have a few openings for any boy who was not able to make it to the meeting. Any boy needing a registration sheet, please get in touch with Ed Choate whose phone number is 385-7566. We definitely must have all boys who are going to play ball registered by March 23. There will be no applications taken after this date. All managers please check your equipment and be able to notify Mr. Choate at our next meeting, which is March 27, what will be needed for the coming year. All new managers please call him and get your equipment also. A very big thank you should be given to all personnel involved in making the roller skating party the resounding success it was this year. A thank you is in store for John Johnson for the swell posters. All in all the Lakeland Park Boy's Baseball Club netted over $200 on this outing. The next meeting is March 27 how about some more new faces being there this month. THE BOWLING ALLEY The standings after the competition of March 2 are thus: Still in first place although the margin is getting slimmer are the Setters with 32-30 with a three way tie for second among the Fugitives, Jim's and George's each with 31-20, which will make it an interesting night next Saturday. The Sociables are in fifth place with 28-24 and there is a two-way tie for sixth between the Ringers and the Alley Oops with 27-25 apiece. The Three J*s and a B are in eighth place with 26-26 and the Untouchables are ninth with 24-28. The Top Cats are tenth with 20-32 and the No Names are in eleventh position with 19-33. The Mammas and the Pappas are still holding up the league with 16-36. THE LINE-UP On March 16 the line up will be Jim's and the Untouchables on lanes 1 and 2 with the Setters and George on 3 and 4. The No-Names and the Top Cats on 5 aira 6 and the Alley- Oops and the Sociables on 7 and 8. The Fugitives and 3J's and a B will bowl on 9 and 10 and the Mammas and Pappas and the Ringers on 11 and 12. Mark Malin celebrates on the eighteenth and the ninteenth is cake day for Robert Mueller who will be twelve and for Leonora Abbott. Jo Ann Rizzo will be seventeen on the twentieth and Pat Linnane celebrates then too. Wendy Dralle is the birthday girl on the twenty-first when she celebrates her eighteenth birthday and Leah Rode will be thirteen on that important day. Scooter Koehl will be six years old on that day. Marty Apel will be thirteen on the twenty-second and voters Art Tiffany, Aggie Prazak and Mary Murphy will also be birthday kids that day. Her Godparent^, Albert Schaefer and Mrs. Clarence Diedrich were guests of honor at the Mass. Dinner was served later at the Nickels home. The delicious ham buffet was served to her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holly and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Diedrich and family, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nickels and her Godparents and family. They had a most enjoyable time. Our very deepest sympathy is extended to the Crane family on the death of Wilma's father last week. Ray and Mary Barle were very proud to be informed of their son, Ray's, participation in the Aerospace program conducted by the Air Force in Texas. Just getting tickets for a Blackhawk game these days is quite a feat, so two cars full of men were most happy when their Hawks went on to win the game in terrific fashion with a rookie goalie in the nets. Ron Meurer, Ted Kaminski, Jay Osmon, Ron Bierman, Jerry Rogers, Lee Mai, Jim Wickenkamp, Tony Knor, Les Eckhart, Jack Oakford, Bill Mueller and Bob Moore were the lucky fellows who really enjoyed the day. Mick Daurio was a member of the cast of the Senior Class play presented last weekend at Mc- Henry high school. Rose and Ed Oswald entertained their card club last Saturday witlt dinner followed by the card games. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herman and Mr. and Mrs. Oxe of Lake Marie. The Oswalds also spent last Thursday in Evanston visiting their daughter, Blanche Geishecker, and five granddaughters. Ken prazak called home with the news that he will be home on leave towards the end of March. That's why Aggie has been walking around a few feet off the ground! .Mary and Jim Daurio took a batchi of finished hospital gowns to the Children's hospital at Dixon last Sunday. A good lady in Crystal Lake turns discarded white shirts into nice soft gowns for the cildren to wear. If you have any outgrown white shirts or shirts with frayed collars or some other slight defect that makes them useless as a dress shirt please donate them to this worthy cause. Daurios will take them if you call them at 385- 3160. Bill Roskopf is still hospitalized with a broken leg after his auto accident. He is feeling a lot better though. Congratulations to Frank Vanek and Paul Schwegle, Jr., who won state scholarships for 1968-69. Les, Nedra and Bill Eckhart and Nedra's brother, Wayne Chamblin and his family, were really up in the clouds Saturday night when they took a champagne flight over the city. This is something new and they said they would really like to go back again. Must be a beautiful sight to see all the lights of the city from so far up. Just a small reminder that no burning is allowed by the Mc- Henry fire department till the danger of fires is past.
