The Reiters from 4407 Ashley are back home from the West Coast, San Francisco and thereabouts, visiting a sister. They are glad to be in the fresh air again. The Neals from Front Royal are back from an all winter stay in Florida. They were on the East and West Coast, and they love it there very much, might move out there?? Mr. Zidek is home from the hospital. Their neighbor, Mrs. Stemler, the pink lady volunteer from the McHenry hospital, helped a lot with her cheerfulness and care. Mrs. Fred Stephen of 4311 Front Royal had surgery and is on her way to recovery. Mrs. Harry Symonds had surgery also and has returned to her home at 4411 Sussex. Mrs. Herbert Sass went in for surgery last week, she will be at the North-West Community hospital. We will keep a prayer in our heart for each one. The Crawfords, who live at the end of Sussex drive, are the most popular folks welcoming all the new comers and making them feel at home. The squirrel population in their back yard is causing quite a disturbance with their feathered friends. By the way folks did you all see the ducks flying in the other day? They looked our four lakes over, but went ort. Grant Disney from Marina City in Chicago, came out to see his folks and the animal life among the tall oaks and fish in one of the four lakes. Many of our big oaks are being replaced by the numerous houses built in the area. At the conclusion of the Lake Region YMCA's winter swim instruction program at the Elgin Academy pool and the Woodstock high school pool, fifty-six of the youth who participated in the ten-week course were awarded badges signifying the completion of various skills based on standards set forth by the YMCA's National Aquatic program. The YMCA's National Aquatic program is based on a series of skills that progress from beginner to Minnow, Fish, Flying Fish, Shark, Porpoi se, and Junior and Senior livesaving. Arrangements to bring the exhibit from New York, where it was one of this winter's outstanding shows have been completed with the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and the Israfel Exploration society. The exhibit, entitled "Masada -- King Herod's Fortress" is based on the 1963-65 excavations at Masada on the western shore of the Dead Sea.
