FURTHER DESTRUCTION AVERTED Through the combined efforts of fast moving neighbors and the efficient firemen the fire last Sunday afternoon on the Joe E. Freund property Was kept to a minimum. The Kollenkarks and the Stanley Freunds, both neighbors of the Freunds, saw the fire in the hog house and went to the farm to assist in helping out. They got all the animals, the truck and tractor out of the building safely. The firemen from McHenry along with our men from station 2 acted quickly iqxm call and worked most diligently against a strong wind to keep the fire from spreading to the other buildings. Hie Freunds were not at home "at the time when the fire started but were summoned to the scene and watched as the combined efforts of the firemen saved their property. They cannot praise the firemen and their good efforts and good neighbors enough for what was done last Sunday. Their hefe house burned to the ground bu\ this was nothing compared to what a loss they would have suffered had not the fire been detected at that certain time. HERE AND THERE Si and Bonnie Meyers returned last weekend from a very nice stay in Florida. . The Emil Debrects were so very happy to have their entire family with them for Easter. Their daughter and family were here from Buffalo which made the day even more enjoyable. Sorry it's late but a happy birthday anyhow to the Kalemba twins, Mark and Karen, who turned four earlier this month. Closing time once again. Be kind and stay well. ZKEDK . (Missouri Synod) 4206 W. You know how it is when you're a child, you are sure you are going to "live happily ever after" somewhere, sometime. As you grow older, the story may change a little. The fairy tale princess turns out to be the girl next door; your castle in the air, a white house on Orchard Street. But the goal remains the same, the happy ending on the far side of the rainbow. But life doesn't always happen like that. Sometimes storybook marriages end in divorce, a promising job becomes a dead end, or a sure-fire investment turns out to be a total loss. Misfortune or your own weaknesses make your days seem futile and empty. What then of childhood expectations? Where do you look for joy and hope and bright tomorrows? God's love is the only way to find real and lasting happiness. Comfort, strength, and purpose are yours for the asking. Why not attend your church today and find new inspiration for your life ? THE CHURCH FOR ALL ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church is the greatest factor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are four sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church regularly and read your Bible daily. Copyright 1968 Keister Advertising Service, Int., Stratburg, Va. Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Ruth Ruth ... Ruth .
