CULLOM LAKE NEWS EVE LEVESQUE BOWIEMS CINCH CHAMPION SHIP IN FIRST GAME There was plenty of excitement, Thursday, April 18 when the Forum bowlers captured first place from Bimbo's team by more than 100 pins. After cinching the championship, the local lads began celebrating, and dropped the next two games. Victorious sportsmen were Marv George, Allan McKim, Lee Mai, Fred Matthesius, and Herb Rothering. Second place opponents included Marshall Jacobs, Don Wattles, Lou Consago, Paul Jensen and Gene Schaefer. Following the victory, the men and their wives returned to their sponsors' establishment. TRUSTEE SUBMITS ORAL RESIGNATION At the last meeting of the acting president and trustees, Wednesday, April 17, trustee Don Parenti submitted his oral resignation. It was reported that his resignation will take place in about one month, in order that the remaining board members can find a replacement for him. This constitutes a second vacancy on the board. John Boyle resigned as trustee to become acting president following the death of elected president, Arthur Stuhlfeier, last April. In June, Ray Lary was appointed by the board to fill Mr. Boyle's vacancy as trustee. Roger Kinsey later moved from the community and no one has been appointed to fill his position. President John Boyle appointed Frank Kurth as building inspector, a post formerly held by William Klapperich. There was discussion of two ordinances dealing with inoperative and unlicensed vehicles. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. in the beachhouse. The public is invited to attend. FORMER RESIDENT IN TWO CAR ACCIDENT SATURDAY Theodor Olsen of Meadow Lane, Lakeland Park, was struck by an auto driven by an Elgin man last Saturday morning near McHenry Floral company. His car was damaged so severely that it cannot be repaired but Mr. Olsen suffered only a bump on the head. He was given a favorable report by an examining physician. Papa Olsen had asked his wife, Sally, to accompany him on his errands, but she pleaded that she would rather stay home and finish her household chores. If she had been with him it is probable that she would have been killed. We are very happy to submit the happy ending to this story.
