Q vir THE MCHENRY PLAIND "SERVING THE CHAIN-O-LAKE S REGION SINCE 1875 Green Street inner Johns! :ws BETTY HETTERMANX 385-1296 Fifteen Green Street Mall, Inc. members took eighty-nine employee-guests to dinner at the American Legion hall in McHenry on Tuesday, May 28. The dinner-meeting was held to acquaint Green Street Mall employees with the background, purpose and plans of the organization of businessmen located in the vicinity of Green street. John J. Shay, Green Street Mall president, welcomed the employees. "We want you people to be the first to know exactly what*s going on because you will be playing a key role in the future of our venture", he said. Following Shay's remarks, public relations director, Weg Thomas, gave a slide presentation tracing the past, present and future activities of the group. "You make the difference", he told the employees, "in the way you serve customers, in the way you ' sell' the Green Street Mall to your friends and neighbors, and in the ideas you have for improvements in all phases of tlje groups activities." At the conclusion of Thomas' presentation, suggestions and questions were invited from the audience. Many ideas were put forth and afterward Shay noted that never in his experience had hfc seen such an enthusiastic response. FAMILY TYPE j ENTERTAINING The entire Dehn clan was in attendance in the Richard Dehn home last Sunday afternoon to celebrate, though a few days early, the graduation of Carol Ann from Marian Central Catholic high school. A real family type gathering it was too, with everyone trying to talk at once and doing their best to get the last couple of months happenings into a few hours. Thoroughly enjoying the Dehns' hospitality were John Dehn and Ted Beeskow family of Chicago, the Bert Davis family of Glen Ellyn, Bill and Dorie Dehn of Skokie and our family. Bill May and son, Richard, along with Carol's brothers and sisters made the afternoon complete. One swell time we all had, believe me.
