During almost all of that time he has been subject to man's rule in varieties, from cruel despotisms to modern so-called'people's democracies'. When man's rule gives way to God's rule the political-religious rule of Christendom and pagandom must also give way and disap-. pear to mankind's eternal relief'. So stated George M. Couch, director' "of the Watchtower Bible and Tract-Society of ,New York, Inc., to 25,040 delegates to the "Good News for All Nations" District Assemly of Jehovah's Witnesses which closed Sunday at County Stadium in Milwaukee. Couch, featured speaker at the gathering, continued' "What kind of conditions would God' s rule mean? Poor, slummy living quarters in polluted atmosphere and water, or in a jungle in constant danger of attack! No! Rather as the paradise of Eden, a garden of pleasure, where sin was not permitted and 'subjection' to proper order was the rule and no rebellion tolerated. "Since the end of World War II, 1945, man's rule has made this earth an arsenal for the stockpiling of atomic and nuclear bombs. The problem of poverty has become tougher than ever, while at the same time the ruining of the earth rapidly proceeds. "From sheer necessity of man's present extremity, the time has come when God simply has to take over the rule of this earth for the saving of the human race.. .Go<P s rule will triumph and prevail on earth forevermore," Couch concluded. Meetings at the local Kingdom Hall will resume the normal schedule this week, it is announced. The only thing that's changed is the name. The girls who used to answer "Information, may I help you?" are now answering calls "Directory Assistance, may I help you?" And the title of the helpful maids has changed from information operator to directory assistance operator. lUPTURE-EASEi A Jifcp Truss® No laces -- instant pull-strap adjustmant Jhat time-honored American institution, the information operator, is no more! Run away from love to a world where hate often prevails. Run away from understanding to a city that seldom understands. Run from tomorrow's hopes into a desolate and hopeless today. Sure, Son, there's something wrong at home --something more spiritual than physical would be our guess! To live as a family we need foundation--something firm and sure--to be confident of when nothing is going our way. To live as a family we need meaning in our relationships; meaning that cannot be eclipsed by the emotions of the moment. Copyright 1968 Keister Advertising Service, Inc., Strasburg, Vs. When church bells ring on Sunday morning, they are calling families to worship! Faith is the foundation of love, and understanding and hope. The teachings of Christ give deeper meaning to all relationships. Can't guarantee you won't gel; a lickin' for running away. Can't guarantee you won't feel like running away again sometime. But can guarantee this: When there's the religious foundation and meaning we're talking about, any crisis can be seen in clearer pers|>ective . . . and sotVed^fnore'sensibly.
