One day they went to Kiddy Park and enjoyed all the rides. Joyce got to see an aunt that they had not seen for quite awhile and Grandpa took the children to Montrose Harbor to see all the boats one day. After a visit with her great-grandmother Joyce's parents came back to the Shores with them and baby sat one night while Bill and Joyce dined out in style at a well known eating place in Algonquin. The entire group went out the next night to have fun at a spot in McHenry. On Monday the group went to Audrey Whitney's new home for lunch and on Tuesday Audrey and family came here for dinner. The Pogors entertained Anne and Leon Poplawski and their son, Johnny, from Chicago on Saturday. Anne is Ray's cousin. Barb served a steak and chicken cook out. FEELING BETTER Anne Gruner came home on Monday July 8 but must take it very easy for a couple of weeks and not do anything. Nice to report that two of our neighbors are feeling better. SPRINKLER WANTED Due to the illness of his wife, Mr. Gruner has not been able to get down to the beach to sprinkle the newly planted grass seed so if anyone has some spare time you may go to his home and get the long hose he has for this purpose. There is a connection from the drinking fountain at the beach to water the new grass before it burns up. A bachelor is a rolling stone who has gathered no boss. WARE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE TOPIC The subject of the Lesson- Sermon in Christian Science churches this week is ••Life'*. A verse from Revelation serves as the Golden Text: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely." The Lesson-Sermon also includes references from the Christian Science textbook,\ "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Edgy* One quotation is the following: "Time-tables of birth and death are so many conspiracies against manhood and womanhood. Except for the error of measuring and limiting all that is good and beautiftxl, man would enjoy more than threescore years and ten and Still maintain his vigor, freshness and promise."
