Public Drawing For Duck Blind Sites Springfield, 111., July 9 - A public drawing for 39 duck blind sites will be held starting at 6 p.m. Sunday July 28, at the Mississippi River Fish and Waterfowl Management Headquarters at Stump Lake, 10 miles northwest of Grafton on Route 100. Hunters must draw for these specific sites every year. Last year's owners do not have prior rights to them, according tothe Illinois Department of Conservation. Hie sites are located at Red's Landing, six miles west of Hardin; 12-Mile Island near Nut- Wilmot, Wis. The interstates Racing Association of modified stock cars has plans for special events for the final week of July at the Kenosha County Speedway in Wilmot. Saturday night, July 27, will be the first 50 lap feature event of iJtfT year at Wilmot. That will be followed by a midweek race on Wednesday July 31. These two events are set to round out what looks like the largest month of racing and attendance the Kenosha County Sjpeedway has had in several yfears1. Registrants must be present for the drawing, must be at least 16 years of age, and have a 1967 or 1968 hunting license in their possession. With the extra night of racing on Wednesday night and the extra laps on the Saturday night race, a shake up could occur in the standings. Saturday they beat Wonder Lake 10 to 5 behind Steve Stahlmatfs pitching and Sunday they lost to Crystal Lake 10-9. Mike Freund started against Crystal Lake and pitched good ball, but errors and sloppy play, in the field cost a lot of runs. Steve Stahlman relieved him in the last of the seventh with men on second and third and no one out. He got the first man on a pop-up, but Visin got his fourth hit of the day, S" ground ball through the pulledin infield to score the tieing and winning runs. Rich Meyers put McHenry ahead in the top of the seventh with Mike Jamt^ on third and two outs. He hit a three-two pitch over the center fielders head for a home run* Ray Bottari and Gary Fairchild had hit home runs earlier, Gary's coming with 2 men on base. Coach Cichowsld has been experimenting with personnel but seems to be gradually settling some of his players. Last Wednesday, Cichowsld had veterans Lew Flinn at quarterback, Bill fiodle at halfback, Eddie Shulti^ at flanker and rookie Mitch Pruiett running as a unit. With the presence of Pruiett at fullback, the Rifle running game may take <ni added strength which should take some of the pressure off Bodle, the Central States Football League's leading ground gainer for the past two years.
