Not very large, its volunteers make up for size by the warm, friendly atmosphere they create. Now that Holiday Hospitality Day (Wednesday, Oct. 2) is not far away, each worker is keyed to an even greater service in anticipation that many of the visitors of that day will come to see this pleasant spot. The real purpose of the Snack Bar is to have hot coffee, fresh sandwiches, candy and small gifts available to the friends, relatives of patients, hospital personnel and the medical staff at all times. Manned seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on week days and 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays, it takes quite an organizing ability to keep it running smoothly. The general chairman, Mrs. Harold Schultz IRTHS in a dark beige crepe, a-line dress with which she wore an orchid corsage. Mrs. Noonan wore a light blue, sleeveless sheath with matching blue coat and an orchid corsage. Following the ceremony a reception for 120 guests was enjoyed*,# McHenry Country clubV*'". „ After a weekend trip, the couple left on Tuesday for Crete, Nebr., where they will make their home for the school year. The former Miss Kuhlman graduated from McHenry high school in 1966 and attended the University of Denver for two years and will be attending Doane college in Crete this fall, majoring in art education. Her husband graduated in 1965 from Crystal Lake high school and is now entering his senior year at Doane college, working toward his degree in business law. Waterfall House Tour Benefits Home-School. The Parent-Teacher association of Johnsburg School District 12 will be giving orchids to the first 100 women to join the PTA. The enrollment will take place at the Johnsburg grade and junior high schools and the Ringwood school on the first day of school, Sept. 4, according to Bill Neumann, PTA president. Mrs. Virginia Boomfield, membership chairman, and her committee will be stationed throughout the schools so that everyone has a chance to sign up. "Open House" and "Welcome Ringwood" will be the theme for the September meeting to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 17. More details will appear at a later date. MCHENRY HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. John Casey of Lake Zurich are parents of a girl Aug. 17. On Aug. 18, a daughter was born to Dr. and Mrs. David Moran, Crystal Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Siepmair announce the birth of a son on Aug. 19. Mr. and Mrs. James Peloquin became parents of a daughter Aug. 19. A son was born Aug. 20 to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Kloepfer are parents of a son Aug. 25. and the co-chairman, Mrs. Richard Walrath, have about seventy - five people manning the Snack Bar which includes approximately twenty-five valuable and indispensable high school girls. These young ladies take over on Saturday and Sunday and are always ready to substitute for the women of the Auxiliary in the summer months. When you see a hospital volunteer in her "Cheery Cherry Red" uniform you know that it is the standard pattern and color for hospital auxiliary workers throughout the United States. When she has a ffaily Orchids To PTA Members The Home and School association of St. John's church, in Johnsburg, is sponsoring a tour of the Waterfall House on Sunday, Sept. 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Waterfall House, which is located in Dutch Creek Woodlands in Johnsburg, was built by its owner at a cost of over $100,000. The pagoda type structure contains two indoor waterfalls, a picturesque hanging bridge and stepping stones of volcanic rock across an indoor wading pooL The landscaping both indoor and out is comprised of many tropical plants and shrubs which lend to its Caribbean charm. CAMP WONDERLAND Bible study and fellowshiD with all the fervor of an old fashioned camp meeting will be featured during the Labor Day weekend at the (Salvation Army's Camp Wonder rand, six miles northwest of Antioch. Inspirational meetings .combined with outdoor recreation are. planned for the nineteenth annual pilgrimage beginning Friday, August 30, and continuing through breakfast on Monday, Sept. 2. Lynn Mangold Tuckpointer At Clarke College Miss Lynne Mangold of McHenry will be among 200 tuckpointers who help acquaint new students with college life this fall at Clarke college, Dubuque, Iowa. Borrowing their name from the building trade, tuckpointers "cement" relations between Clarke and the new students, orienting them socially to campus living. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Mangold, 1321 Bayview, Miss Mangold will enter her jun* for year, majoring in Spanish. DIETETIC MEETING At the beginning of this, the fifty-first year of the American Dietetic association, the North Suburban Dietetic associatioh will be interested in developing the dietitians role in a variety of community and professional services. The first program of the fall will be Wednesday, Sept. 4, 7:30 p.m. at East Maine Junior high school, 8955 Greenwood avenue. Lee Block, Director of Community Relations at Michael Reese hospital and a member of the Public Relations society of America, will speak on "Public Relations and the Dietetic Profession".
