Marie Therens of 4605 Sussex drive, Whispering Oaks, suffered a fractured and dislocated elbow in a fall on the walk near her home Monday evening. Marine Private Derek J.Egerstaffer, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boniface J. Egerstaffer of 5306 W« Fountaine lane, McHenry, was graduated from eight weeks of recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit depot inSan Diego. He will now undergo from two to four weeks of individual combat training and then, after leave at home, will report to his first Marine Corps assignment. The intensified Marine recruit training emphasizes rigid physical conditioning and survival techniques, both at sea and ashore, to develop self-confidence and endurance. Marksmanship with the M-14 rifle and 45-caliber pistol are equally stressed, and close order drill instills the traditions of Marine Corps teamwork.
