Oh - notentirely. We'll be back as soon as all this hoopla is over. The Detroit Tigers seem to be fading after a long lead that seemed to make them a shooin. And we are almost ready to concede that our White Sox won't win the pennant this year. Our sidekick, Marie Yegge, chose to tune out the Democrats and tune in the Cubs Wednesday night. You missed a lot of action, Marie. The old saying used to be when Labor Day rolled around so fast, "It makes you wonder what you did with your summer wages." The idea seems to be to rest, The Chicago Area Chapter of the Ninety Nine's, an organization of women pilots, will hold an Air Meet out of Crystal Lake airport on Saturday, Sept. 7. Barrington pilots, Mrs. Peg Traner, 170 West Signal Hill road, and Mrs. Nona Gustafson, County Line road, are co-chairman of this years event. By Bert Hagemann This week saw the end of two weeks of hard work by the McHenry football team, and after talking to those knowledgeable people who know the North Suburban league, this reporter sees the final standings as looking something like this: 1. North Chicago , 2. Barrington 3. Libertyville 4. Zion-Benton 5. Woodstock 6. McHenry 7. Crystal Lake 8. Dundee Picking the two top teams in football is never very difficult as year in and out, these two schools are football powerhouses. I see the Warhawks having the edge, however, as they played almost all juniors last year, and their wealth of returning lettermen and terrific speed should give them the edge oyer a Barrington team which is once again big and very rough. The next three teams are very even, but the edge must go to the well coached Tunnicliff Woodstock 338-0032 ARRIVES FRIDAY AUGUST 3D WEEKNIGHTS 7:00-9:15 - SAT & SUN 4:30-6:50-9:15 Rosemary's Baby tens it like it is: A CLASSIC! The Zee-Bees, under a new head coach, and with twenty-two returning lettermen, could surprise and be the dark horse candidate in the race, while Woodstock wiU field an outstanding group of Juniors who could be awfully tough by seasons end. The Warriors will be hampered severely by lack of depth once again and experience, but I see them as better than Crystal Lake and Dundee who will be almost completely rebuilding. WARRIORS HAVE SPIRIT This years Warrior edition, with very little going for it right now except exuberance and fabulous spirit, could get progressively better as the season wears on if help can be found at the tackles. One thing is certain, this group will win the hearts of Warrior fans with their determination and effort, and they could provide us with some thrills and surprises before everything is over.
