LAKEMOOR - LILYMOOR Pat Morrison 385-6396 MAURICE HAINES ELECTED HEAD OF ASSOCIATION The Lilymoor association held its general meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Election of officers for the year 1969 was held. Elected to the following offices were: Maurice Haines, president; Elmer Kroncke, first vice president; Donald Leske, second vice-president; Connie Johnson, secretary; Bill Gunther, treasurer. A joint meeting of all the out-going and in-. ' coming officers will be held at Marion Leske's home on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. Installation of the * new officers is planned for Dec/ 11 at Club Lilymoor. FUN CLUB The Fun Club held its monthly meeting last Wednesday at Emma Kunz* house."PrTzes""at the social were won by Lu Bitterman, Jen CLeary, Doris Kibbe and Toni Ehredt. The gals were all happy to see Emma walking around without the aid of the crutches she has had to use since her accident almost a year ago. OUR BOYS IN SERVICE Patrick Pierce is home on furlough for 3 weeks. We were very glad to visit with him for awhile. Pat is with the Armyjand is on his way to Thailand. Tom Bitterman was home on furlough and is now taking Officer's training with the Army at Fort Benning, Ga. Jim Cassell was home on leave for a few days, visiting friends and neighbors last month. He is now a radioman second class with the Navy,, with his home base in Newport, Rhode Island. His wife, Judy and two year old daughter, Christi, went back with him to Rhode Island after spending a short vacation with ner family. Jim is servingon the U.S.S. Joseph K. Taussig. David Tobey surprised his parents last week when he came home on a 15 day leave from the Navy. David just returned from serving on the largest convoy since World War n. After Ms leave, David is leaving for Vietnam. WOMEN'S AUXILIARY The Woman's auxiliary held its meeting on Monday, Oct. 7 at which time they elected their new officers for the coming year*. Elected to office were: President, Pearle Stineman; Vice-president, Marge Polinski; Secretary, Marylyn Lo- Presti; Treasurer, Val Fradinardo. The new board of directors are: Alma Huecksteadt, Jo Bartelt, Eunice Tobey and Kay Meyer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY To Jack Bender who celebrated his big day on Oct. 15 and to Chris Wijas, Oct. 17; Johnny Bender, Oct. 19 and to Marion Vornkahl, Oct. 20. Belated birthday greetings to Louise Epperson who celebrated her day on Oct. 8 and Charles Epperson, Oct. 14. Steve and Marilla Dember presented them with a new grand son, Steven, Jr., born in Madagasgar, on July 14; Genene (Dember) and Bill Maxson presented another grandson, Christopher Matthew, on Sept. 4 and <Hie month later, Alfred and Carol Dember presented them with a 6 lb. 9 oz. granddaughter, Denise Lynn, cm Oct. 4. Congratulations to all of you; DOGS RUNNING LOOSE It has been brought to (Mir attention once again that we have , a problem of .dogs running loose in thejvrtllage. A warning is being issued to dog owners that if your dog is picked up by thepolice and is without a dog tag, tickets will be issued for the dog being loose plus not having a tag. To purchase a tag from the village clerk, your dog must have a current rabies inoculation. When the police do not know to whom a dog belongs, the animal is impounded. It is the law that all dogs must be cm a leash, so owners, please take note. JUST A NOTE We are very happy to report that your regular reporter, Shirley Schuerr, is home from the hospital recuperating. Shirley is not exactly up on her feet as of yet, but is feeling fine. Seifert of 1705 North avenue, McHenry, has successfully completed the training program for dental tecfinoIogfsts7 at the Milwaukee, Wis., campus of Career academy, World's largest paradental schooling system and was awarded a certificate at graduation ceremonies held on Sept. 21. In the training, Mr. Seifert studied all phases of the laboratory craft in classroom laboratories which simulated "on-the -job" conditions. SUPPORT JUDGE Attorney James C. Franz, a , partner in the,l Crystal Lake law firm of Franz and Franz, was recently appointed chairman of a committee of McHenry county lawyers supporting Judge Glenn K. Seidenfeld for retention as Circuit Judge on Nov.'5. Mr. Franz has succeeded in gaining the unanimous support for Judge Seidsrie Id among the law-_ yers of McHenry county for retention in the coming election. Judge Seidenfeld, a resident of Waukegan, was the Chief Judge of this Judicial Circuit until his recent appointment as a temporary judge on the Illinois Appellate court, sitting in Elgin. Mr. Franz recently announc- MCCLORY RECOMMENDED The Better Government association, headquartered in Chicago, has announced its recommendation of Congressman Robert McClory who is a candidate for re-election to the United States Congress in the election to be held Nov. 5. The Better Government association is a non-partisan, not for profit, citizen-supported and citizen-run organization. It receives no financial support from and is independent of any government agency, political party, public official, or candidate. The BGA officers and directors are Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, dedicated to the principle that better government will come only through election of better meh to public office. Recommendations of the Betfer Government association SCOTT RATED William J. Scott, Republican candidate for Illinois Attorney General, this week won the eiK dorsement of the Better Government association. The B.G.A. rated Scott, former Illinois State Treasurer, as "very well qualified" for the Attorney General post. Douglas Stevenson, Chicago attorney and immediate past president of the B.G.A. said results of the organization's thorough investigation of Scott's qualifications, had reinforced his own strong siq?port for Scott for the Attorney General post.
