Lis Carole Humanii WEED CUTTENG PROGRAM'NOW just know that you can't help noticing that the weed cutting has begun again for this year. Hopefully by today all of the = intersections will have the high growth trimmed so that the visibility increases. Cutting of the lots is beginning as well as the easements and it would be most helpful to the men who are doing the cutting if debris would be cleared. Most of the fields are in pretty good shape as far as having very little junk lurking about for the unsuspecting niAn to come upon. If your field is on the list of the offenders won't you please pile stuff in an easily seen location? All that rain we've been having slows the job down slightly too so these fellows can use all the help they can get to make the job a little easier. CONSERVATION The high priority chore of the conservation club is to see that the lake is fished as much as possible. The lake is overloaded with fish and lots of them are good sized. Lots of them are pretty darn small too and the only cure for this is to fish heck out of the lake and not to throw any back for any reason. Over population stunts the growth and then all we'll have is a lake filled with minnow sized fish that nobody wants. So for the good of the future fishing get out there and practice your casting and just maybe you'll be lucky enough to latch on to one of the good sized fish out there and then enjoy the fish dinner resulting. The kids sure have been trying and they've reported some pretty fair sized fish for their efforts. 1 COMMUNITY HOUSE SCHEDULE All bookings and cancellations for the community house are to be made in advance by calling Jo Rizzo at 385-2728. The deposit and permission slip must be turned in to Mrs. Bierman before July 1 if you expect to go with us. After this time, we will be inviting members of other troops to join us ,to make up our quota of 40 persons, but we would like to give everyone in our troop a first chance. Don't forget girls - your badge money and past dues must be paid before July 1 also. This is only fair, because this money originally came out of our troop funds and most of it has been repaid. Can you give me one good reason why a minority of girls should be excused from paying this money? Feel free to call Mrs. Bierman for any information regarding either dues or badge money. This money is needed for our Springfield trip. By the way, your equipment list will be mailed to each of you as soon as my "Secretary*' (ho ho ) can get them typed. Don't ask me lately cuz I sure don't know. Seems like everybody is busy doing the same old thing but surely somebody is doing something exciting! Even a little interesting? Like help, you guys. Keith Stokes thought life was pretty good last Sunday afternoon when he caught a twelve inch speckled trout in the little creek. Biggest fish he's ever caught and the grin split his face from one side to the other. Doesn't take an awful lot to make a boy really happy, but this is one of those special thinjgs that do. Bet it tasted pretty good too. Kim and Paul Cynowa share a birthday date on June 14 and with all the flags waving they had a grand celebration of Kim's sixth birthday and Paul's tenth. Kim's share of the party included her guests, Holly Arient, Cathy Kitori Jill Wohnrade, Terry Lynn Mai, Carol and Mary Hester, Sherri Hendricks, Beverly Hromec and also brother, Craig. Paul's guests were Eric and Scott Vann, Paul Zimny, Bob Hromec, Mike Mai, Danny Duffy, Bob Schabow, and Mark aad i£cott Hendricks. Helpers for the dual celebration were Alana Hendricks and Sara Hunt. The kids hac| a great time. That streak of lightning seen around the neighborhood is Paul enjoying his new ten-speed bike which takes top honors as his favorite gift and wby-not! The Cynowas have had a busy time lately with Carol's brother, Rudy Gartze, visiting from California. They haven't seen 'each other for nineteen years so there was a lot of catching up to do. *5, Get-well wishes to Steve Bockman who has the tonsillitis bug which puts the kibosh oh the swimming. Steve Mai is! home from the hospital and still recuperating from his ryptured appendix. What a way jtO spend the summer. Michelle Koch and Doris Rehberg were patients at McHenry hospital and hope that they're better by now. Flora Haggeman is home from the hospital where she will be convalescing for some time. Ruth Roach attended the twenty- four year reunion of her class from Loretto of Engelwood. The wing ding was 'held at a restaurant in Evergreen Park and as reunions go the game of the day was guessing names. Jim and Ray took advantage of the day to visit Grandma so all had a good time. ^ Our good news department reports that the raft at the West Beach has been repaired and is in A-OK shape again. Cheers for the good guys who put it back together. They are Mr. Bates, Mr. Fleming and Dave Grandt who had lots of help from Kevin Dniml, John Arient and Bill Buchert. With such great team work the job was done in half the time expected. Mrs. Chamblin is visiting our fair community again this week and was planning on soaking up the sun but a little rain got in the way. Oh well, it was raining in the city too. Margo and Wally Schaedel and the kids just returned from a three week loaf in the sun at St. Petersburg, Florida. They were there for the hurricane but reported it to be about like McHenry winds so weren't too impressed. Eleanor Haerle was admitted to the academy of friendship at the state convention of the Women of the Moose at the Conrad Hilton in Chicago. She was Fri., June 28, 1968-Plaindealer-Sec. 2, Page;# most impressed with the lovely ceremony and quite thrilled with tiie honor. She has been elected chaplain of the McHenry chapter of the WOTM. Things have been slightly warm at the Hutts lately starting with a kitchen fire that ruined a good steak afriorig other things like the oven, etc. To top that they found the back seat of their car completely burned out when they came out of the house last Saturday for a trip to Grandma's. Need we say they stayed home. Hope that this does it for them and that all their news is happy from now on. They had company for part of the weekend. Phyllis, Bill, Karen and Lisa Zygowicz came out for a few days and helped to end the * weekend on a happy note anyway. That's it for today, but need lots of help as the column deadline is Friday this week because of the holiday.
