JUSTEN • A floor lenth gown of chantilly lace was selected by Miss Judith Ann Watson of Piano when she walked down the aisle^of St. Mary's Catholic church, vMc- Henry, on Saturday to meet her bridegroom, Mr. Gerald L. Justen of McHenry. [ The pretty bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Byrum of •Altamont, wore a dress featuring a sabrina neckline adorned with iridescent sequins and pearls, fitted bodice, long, |»inted sleeves, and full skirt. $he had a detachable watteau, chapel length train. Her twoiiered, silk illusion, bouffant Veil fell from a Swiss braid, petals shell crown, highlighted with pearls, iridescent sequins &nd aurora borealis crystals. Miss Watson carried a small white Bible and a bouquet of white carnations. Mrs. Miirk Mass of Woodstock acted as matron of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Lowell ."Withrow of Piano and Mrs. John Barosko of Oswego, both aunts Wed of the bride. They were attired in gowns with white Venice lace bodice and apricot-colored crepe sheaths. The gowns were styled empire, floor length, with back floating panels. Their matchihg headpieces were daisy shell crowns with maline, twotiered, bouffant veils. Each carried a bouquet of white carnations with daisies tipped in apricot color. Harvey Sand of McHenry served his brother-in-law as best man and groomsmen were Tom Justen of McHenry, cousin of the groom, and Cliff Byrum of Altamont, brother of the bride. Ushers were Frank Kellner of McHenry, uncle of the groom, and John Barosco of Oswego, uncle of the bride. As flower girl, Anita Kay Withrow of Piano, cousin of the bride, was attired in a white, dotted Swiss frock trimmed in apricot daisies and she carried a basket of mixed white and apricot daisies, with a headpiece to match those of the other attendants. a Gary Lee Wallace of Piano was ring bearer. A reception followed at the K". of C. hall in McHenry, after which the couple left on a wedding trip to the Lake of the Qzarks. They will make their home in Crystal Lake, where both are employed. THE J.M. HODGSONS, SR. Mr. and Mrs. James Hodgson of 707 Treetop road, Ingleside, observed their thirty^ second wedding anniversary oir June 27. They were married on that date in 1936 in Chicago and moved to Ingleside in 1948. The Hodgsons have one son, James, Jr., who with his wife, the former Sandra Kufeldt of Fox Lake, observed their third wedding anniversary June 26. Mrs. Eileen Hodgson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Former Local Man Married In DesPlaines A wedding of interest was solemnized Saturday, June 22, in Christ Evangelical and Reformed church, DesPlaines, where Miss Gayle Lynn Geils exchanged nuptial vows with Mr. Thomas Earl Hachmeister. Miss Geils is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Geils of 1112 Van Buren avenue, DesPlaines, and Mr. Hachmeister is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Hachmeister of 1525 Thacker street, DesPlaines, formerly of McHenry. The 4 p.m. ceremony was performed by Rev. R.K. Wabbe in a church decorated with bouquets of mixed, white flowers on the altar. Special music included "Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer". Pretty Miss Geils selected a white, chantilly lace dress in traditional style, with which she wore an elbow length lace headpiece. Her flowers were orchids, carnations and stephanotis. Attending her were Deborah Pallardy as maid of honor, Lora Hachmeister, sister of the groom, Marilyn Krueger and Nancy Calvin, all of DesPlaines, as bridesmaids. All were attired in yellow taffeta, sheath dresses with matching chiffon cage and yellow headpieces. Miss Pallardy carried yellow carnations and white daisies and the bridesmaids had yellow daisies and white carnations. Craig Barrows of McHenry served as best man and groomsmen were Kenneth Reid of McHenry, David Geils of DesPlaines, brother of the bride, and Jack Hachmeister of Park Ridge, brother of the groom. Linda Mae Ladendorf, young cousin of the bride, was the pretty flower girl and Robert Moynihan of DesPlaines was ring bearer. Mrs. Geils cftpse a pink peau de soie street length dress with matching jacket and a corsage of brown orchids. Mrs. Hachmeister wore a mint green crepe, street length dress and a corsage of dark green orchids. A reception for 250 guests immediately followed the wedding in the DesPlaines Legion home, after which the young couple left on a trip to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. They will make their home at 400 W. Touhy, DesPlaines. The bride is a 1968 graduate of Maine West high school in DesPlaines. The groom graduated in 1965 from McHenry high school and is employed as a timekeeper for Lake States Engineering Corp. Marius Hansens Are Honored On Silver Wedding The seven children of Mr. and Mrs. Marius J. Hansen, of 5229 E. Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake, Mrs. Robert (Michelle) Manke, Jacqueline^ Patricia, Barbara, Roger, Andrew and Joseph, honored their parents with a twenty-fifth silver wedding anniversary party, Saturday May 25, at the VFW in Woodstock. The actual date of their wedding was May 29, 1943. Marius Hansen and the former Jeanette (Jay) Lowrey were married in Chicago but have lived their entire married life in Wonder Lake. Guests at the party included Mrs. Mary Lowrey, Van Nuys, Calif., mother of Mrs. Hansen, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hansen, Wonder Lake, parents of Mr. Hansen. Sisters and brothers of the couple attending the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lowrey, LaGrange Park, Mr. and Mrs. William Ring, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lowrey, Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ahrens, Woodstock, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lowrey, Beloit, Wis. Sister Mary Maura, R.S.M. Davenport, Iowa, Donald Lowrey, Fox Lake, and Mr. and Mrs* George Sorenson, Wonder Lake. The Hansens were completely surprised by their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howard, who came unexpectedly from California to surprise the honored couple. The Hansens have two grandchildren, Donald and Connie Manke, children of Mr. and Mrs. Manke, rural Woodstock. HONORED ON BIRTHDAY Mrs. F. C. Ulrich was guest of honor at a dinner party at a local restaurant on Saturday in celebration of her birthday. Miss Helen Modine of St. Charles hosted the dinner for her aunt and her house guest, Mrs. Phyllis Shaler, of Scotsdale, Ariz. Engagement Announced ' LINDA WRUBLEWSKI Mr. and Mrs. Marty Wrublewski of 3607 Young street, McHenry, announce the engagement of their daughter, Linda, to Ray Simon, son of Mrs. Joseph Simon of 3604 W. Main street and the late Joseph Simon. Her fiance is presently serving his country in the armed forces. No definite wedding date has been set. OES Smorgasbord McHenry Couple Served Saturday Wed Saturday In McHenry Chapter, No. 547, Order of the Eastern Star, will sponsor its annual smorgasbord dinner on Saturday, June 29, at Acacia hall, 1309 N. Following a trip to Miami Beach, Fla., the bride is living in Chicago while her husband is stationed at the Army base at Fort Knox, Ky. She is employed as a secretary for the government. Methodist Church Rev. Raymond L. White of the Community Methodist church officiated at the 5 o'clock nuptial rite last Saturday, June 22, which united in marriage Miss Charlotte Ann Gerke and Mr. David Edward Armit, both of McHenry. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Gerke of 1814 W. Grandview, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Armit of 2005 N. Woodlawn Park. Miss Gerke approached the altar, charming in a satin and lace, empLcg style, street length dress with* loose fitting lace coat which featured long sleeves fitted at the wrist. Attending her were her sister, Darlene Gerke, as maid of honor and Jeanne Howard of McHenry as bridesmaid. Both wore A-line dresses with lace adorning the necklines and sleeves, styled street length, with short sleeves, tyiss Gerke was in lime green crepe and Mrs. Howard in yellow. Mrs. Gerke chose a pink crepe dress with which she wore white accessories, while Mrs. Armit was attired in a beige ensemble and matching accessories. The immediate family and attendants enjoyed dinner at the Evergreens in Dundee following the ceremony. Hie new Mr. and Mrs. Armit are making their home at 129-5 Marshall drive, W. Lafayette, Ind. Both young people are 1964 graduates of McHenry high school. The bride also graduated from Northeastern Illinois college and is a kindergarten teacher. Her husband will be graduated in 1969 from Purdue university. NOTRE,. DAME GRADUATE Jeffrey J. Kenton of 1420 W. Bay road, McHenry, was among 1,358 undergraduates receiving degrees at the University of Notre Dame's 123rdcommencement exercises in June. Dr. James A. Maple avenue, McHenry, who became the bride of Mr. John J. Huemann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph G. Huemann of 2104 W. Johnsburg road„ McHenry, in a lovely Wedding solemnized at St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. Rev. Fr. Gerald McGonigle, cousin of the bride, officiated at the 3 o'clock ceremony, for which Miss Joann Freund was soloist. Miss Smith selected a fall length, empire gown of white lace over ta£feta0 „with detachable, floor length traiii which fell from the scoop neckline. A narrow ribbon with tailoredbow of nylon brgandy accented the empire waist and short, fUll sleeves. Her headpiece was a double-tiered crown of lace with jeweled accents of crystal and pearl which held a bouffant veil. She carried a bouquet of white lilies of the valley and yellow roses. Donna Colborn of McHenry acted as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Lina Miller, her cousin, Barbara Huemann, sister of the groom, and Karen Huemann, his cousin, Linda Frett, Judy Hay and Debbie Harldns. Miss Colborn was attired in a lemon-colored dress, while the other attendants wore pale avacado. The dresses were floor length, sleeveless sheaths of chiffon and taffeta. The overlay of chiffon with mandarin necklines were trimmed in matching lace. Short, matching, nylon tulle, bouffant veils were accented by crowns of large petals with lilies of the valley. Attending the groom were John Little, Harold Frett, Mike Conway, Chris Wirtz, Dennis Jackson and Ray Olszewski of the McHenry area and Dennis Kilroy of Chicago. Mrs. Smith selected a turquoise sheath dress with chiffon overlay, matching accessories and a hat of fresh, white Fuji mums. Mrs. Huemann wore a pink ensemble, pillbox hat, matching accessories and a corsage of orchids, A reception for 350 guests was held at the Johnsburg Community club, with the guest book circulated by Lisa and Kim Huemann, nieces of the groom. The couple left on a trip through Wisconsin. They will make their home at 1914 W. Sunnyside Beach, McHenry The bride is a 1966 graduate of McHenry high school and is employed as a secretary with the Kent Corp. Her husband graduated from Marian Central high school in 1966, attended Northern Illinois university for a year and a half and is employed as a well driller with Joseph H. Huemann & Sons.
