They were in Newport and toured the USS La Salle and went into the NASA administration building and also saw the USS Kennedy. Kids were surfing in the ocean while they watched while wearing jackets and goose bumps. The best part of the trip was the drive through the mountains of West Virginia where they were into the clouds, and for us prairie folks, that's high! The colors were at their peak and just indescribably gorgeous. There are many caves in the Shenandoah Valley area and they went into some on a tour which was quite a thrill. So they are back home and happy with lots of memories to keep them going through the long cold winter. ---J Virginia Hodges is home from the hospital. She was released their first home in Chicago. Art and Gladys Hafer were visiting with friends in the area for the past few weeks while staying with Art and Carol. Gladys also attended the Rebecah State assembly in Springfield while there. They have since returned home to Mountain Home, Ark., where they have their new home.
