pa 6 2-PLAINDEALER-NOV. 22, 1968 * Rehabilitation Indicate Siiecess Of Fall Program Contributions to the Master association's Wonder Like rehabilitation program at last habilitation program at last repqr totaled $10,441,97, according to James Lo Bixby, chairman of the water-fish management project. Meanwhile, recent reports from the Department of Conservation indicate the project, involving the lake and upper reaches of Nippersink Creek, was quite% successful. Bruce Muench, fishery biologist who directed the program, shock-tested the water at various locations. Results showed that new fishes planted this fall are distributed throughout the lake. Fishes in evidence during the tests were fingerling and adult largemouth bass and fingerling bluegills that were - placed in the lake between Sept. 25 and Oct. 10. No other species were observed, indicating ah almost complete kill of the scavengers that dominated the fish population. Muench said that it is quite possible that some survival of rough fish has occurred, even though none was observed. However. the number of surviving scavenger fish must be extremely low. Game fish was estimated to be less than 3 percent of the total population that counted carp, suckers and bullheads into the hundreds of thousands of pounds. Turbidity has been significantly reduced with removal of the bottom-feeders. The latest visibility tests showed a water depth clarity reading of 40 inches. Depth visibility was 11 inches when the treatment began September 13. LAKE RESTOCKED The lake has been restocked with 50,000 fingerling bluegill, WONDER LAKE GAIL WILLIAMS 653-5371 EIGHTH GRADERS PRESENT CLASS PLAY NOV. 26 The Harrison School gprade will present its eighth annual play Tuesday, Nov. 26,at 8p.m. jit Harrison school. ! ISAIAH 1:18 The opportunity to "reason'J or discuss with God ones9' sins, avails itself to every man. Many are those who do not take advantage of their opportunity and therefore go through life burdened with their guilt of sin. Jesus tells us in Mathew 11&8-30, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yolk upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." It is His desire to take our burden, this guilt of sin, and in its' place bring peace. "Come now, and let us reason together saith the Lord. For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation, have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." n Corinthians 6:2. Father John Strazalka, J Pastor A giant radio telescope picked up bursts of static from a galaxy 2000 light years away. In them, scientists discovered these simple words: , "Earthmen, your planet is in danger. As your morals decay, your great cities slowly crumble. You will see wars and civil strife." "But we offer you hope," the ancient message continued. "A new world. We can give you knowledge and bring you the peace for which you have searched so long ..." Science-fiction? Not entirely. There is a message that originated in a distant place over 2000 years ago. It describes the world as it is today, and it offera hope for the future. The Bible, inspired by God, is a very real message, one that you can begin reading today. Then go to church on Sunday and meet the Author there.
