Two-year-old Pat Colberg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Colberg of 1203 Bonnie Brae, McHenry Shores, who is looking at the family's 12-foot tree for the first time. The unusual height is possible because it occupies a spot in the house which ' has a studio ceiling. Twelve strings of lights decorate it. PLAINDEALER PHOTO Police Superintendent Major Albert S. Hinds of Springfield was appointed Superintendent of the Illinois State Police by Gov. Samuel H. Shapiro to serve out the term expiring in January, 1969. Hinds replaces William H. Morris who has been names operating director of the Governor's Committee on Criminal Justice. Hinds joined the state highway police in 1949 and was promoted to sergeant in 1951 and named lieutenant in 1952. He became captain in 1958 and was promoted to major in 1966. The 45-year-old Hinds was born in Ashland and has resided in Springfield since 1963. He and his wife, Lola, are parents, of two sons. Republican Inaugural activities in Washington, D.C., will extend from Saturday, Jan. 18, through Monday, Jan. 20, 1969. The office of Congressman Robert McClory is cooperating with the Inaugural committee to promote the success of the various Inaugural events. With these machines now on site, keypunch training classes are scheduled to begin starting the week of Jan. 13. Students will learn how to operate the IBM model 029 keypunch. They will learn skills necessary to qualify for keypunch operator trainee positions. Two separate classes will be held each week, one class on Monday and one class on Wednesday evenings in the Data Processing laboratory at the Crystal Lake campus. The classes will run for five weeks, three hours a meeting. When one five week class finishes, another one will be started. Data Processing instructor, Ray Zwierzycki, says that students should be capable of typing at 40 words per minute before taking this course. Since enrollments will be limited, students should apply early. Further^ information may be obtained from the counseling office at the college.
