Hie Ringwood Sunshine 4-H Club was called. to order at 7:14 p.m. itie pledges were ted by Debbie Freund^ The secretary gave her report, and was corrected. The treasurer's report with a balance of $15.94 was given. Michele Rassmussen gave a demonstration on Swedish tea ring. Cathy Tonyan gave a talk on safety with Christinas trees. Delores Betts gave a talk on sleeping. Pam Spengel gave a demo on how to face a pattern. Jan. 8, 1969, is the next meeting. Diane Christopher will give a knitting demonstration. Pam Low, photography; Lynn Tomlinson, candles; Pat Christopher, candle; and Resae Ackerman oh stitchery. Talks for the next meeting will be given by Kim Spengel, Leon Tonyan, Colleen Tonyan and Juanita Ackerman. There is one more demonstration for Kim Kantlehner on cooking. EMERGENCY TRIP TO MCHENRY HOSPITAL , When everyone is prepared to rejoice in the joyous season, one of our families has suffered misfortune. We regret to r^pdrt. that long time resident, Sam Deskis, was rushed to McHenry hospital by ambulance, early Monday m6rning. He was placed in the intensive care unit; He arose at his usual time, but did not seem to be feeling well. He collapsed oh the floor, and his wife, Anna, summoned the couple's son, Ray, of Woodstock and the ambulance. We're hoping all our readers will remember Sam in prgjyers and with cheery messages. MAKING PROGRESS IN COURAGEOUS BATTLE Young Wendy Cunningham who has been incapacitated* for months, finally had her cast removed at McHenry hospital, $ week ago Tuesday. Medics felt it was wiser to keep her hospitalized while she regained the use of her limbs. She has been undergoing therapy and learning how \to walk again. While Wendy was still in cast in her home, she was able tq> catch uponschoolworkbymeans of a tell-a-class which is a classroom to home intercom. (We hope that spelling is correct). Hopefully, Wendy will be able to spend Christmas with her loving parents, brothers. Her remarkable stoicism iji the &ce of adversity is truly to be admixed. Her morale is of the highest, and may we 'add,that she lias received the finest treatment from her loving mom and dad. WHEN A FELLER NEEDS A FRIEND .. f$rs. Rifth Gumm was soltoil- Iedto welcome the offer of the Rev. Gerald Robertson of the Alliance Bible church, McHenry, to deliver the eulogy for,her husband, the late Whitey Gumm. His words were comforting and fitting, both to Ruth and the mourners. She was also comfortedbythe ministrations of her wonderful neighbors, Dorie and Bill Brennan, Mary and Gene Freund, and Sandy Brennan andButchCarter of Ringwood. Their sympathy and help was so meaningful during her bereavement. In this time of strife, it is so nice to know that people really do care and DO bepome involved.
