Singers Begin Rehearsal For Spring Program tvith an invitation to new members to join, members of the McHenry Choral club will open a new season on Monday evening, Jan. 13, with the first rehearsal scheduled for 8 o'clock in the East campus school. Practice will begin immediately for the spring program to be presented the last weekend in April. Selections on hand for re-, hearsal are representative of various types of music, including "Anthem For Spring" from "Cavalleria Tkisticana" and Tschaikowsky's "Nightingale", and in a lighter vein, a medley from "Fidler on the Roof" and a special arrangement of the folk tune, "Blue Tail Fly". The deadline for membership has been set at Jan. 20 because of the advanced date for the program. Wed Recently John Boyles Wed 25 Years McCullom Lake, which was the courting place for Lorraine Kurth and John Boyle, became also a permanent home for the couple where they now reside at 4704 \V. Parkview. The two will be celebrating their silver wadding anniversary Wednesday, Jan. 15. Just" how they will mark the momentous occasion has not ryet been determined. Mrs. Boyle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kurth, also McCullom" Lake, and President of the Village of McCullom Lake John Boyle is the son of the late Elizabeth and Evard Boyle. Lorraine Kurth lived in Edison Park, Chicago, while John's family^was located in Edgebrook, Chicago. The two met in the resort area of McCullom Lake during the 30's. ^Bothwere educated in Chicago schools. " During summer months, he made spending money by working as a carpenter and she attended beauty culture school while still a student. u World War II was a harrowing experience for Mr. Boyle, who was commissioned a. first lieutenant in the U. S. Army Air corps. During his military ca- , reer, he was shot and wounded, which earned him a Purple Heart. He returned to combat in Europe, was shot down and reported missing for three months. This earned for him the Purple Heart with cluster and the Air Medal. The Boyles were wed in formal ceremonies in Chicago, Jan. 15, 1944. In 1947, they chose McCullom Lake for their permanent home. First Junior High "Y" Dance , Set For Jan. 10 The Lake Region YMCA has scheduled the first junior high dance of the New Year for Jan. 10 at the L^kewood village hall, in Crystal Lake. The popular monthly dances begin at 7:30 p.m. and are over by 10 p.m. Doors to the village hall open at 7:10. " The Junior high dances are open to all seventh and eighth grade residents of the Y's tencommunity service area towns. There is no admission charge to members of the Lake Region YMCA^ Refreshments are served free of charge during the dancing. Adequate adult supervision is present during the entire evening of dancing. The YMCA requests that youth conduct themselves in accordance with the rules set down by the YMCA. This includes the wearing of school clothes. McCullom Lake incorporated as a village in 1955 and Mr. Boyle was elected trustee. He resigned as vic^-president of the Cullom-Knoll Association to accept the post. He was reelected in 1957 for a four-year term. He lost out as village president in 1961, but was named tcMulfill the unexpired term of .Frank Parkhurst, who died in office. He was again elected tr/istee in 19(35 and was named acting village^oregident when Mr. Stuhlfeier su^curnbed while holding that office. He is also a member of the Legion and V.F.W. The couple were blessed with ^ the birth of two sons, John, Jr. Sept. 1945, who is a medical student in Chicago, and Robert, born March 15, 1958, a student at Valley View grade school. Fr. The very title of her talk, "Celebrities Are My Business", will make people cast an extra glance her way in anticipation of something interesting, witty and filled with the things into which "everyday folk" do not get an insight. Some of the celebrities discussed by Miss Daly on Jan. 16 will include such people as Red Skelton, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, Jimmy Durante and Marlene Deitrich. Recital Series Is Announced At College McHenry County college has announced a series of four chamber music concerts and solo recitals to be held in the second semester of the school year. Opening the series on Feb. 16 will be a piano, clarinet and cello trio made up of students from the American Conservatory, Chicago. The second program on March 23, will be a solo piano recital by Gail Delente, a brilliant young pianist who makes her home in St. Louis and is on the faculty of Webster college there. On April 20, McHenry County college music faculty member, Marie Ann Vos, soprano, will be accompanied by Wesley M. Vos, piano, in a solo song recital. Rev. Fr. Dorcfing officiated at the 3 o'clock ceremony. Miss Magnine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony G. Magnine of 1316 W. Groomsmen were Thomas Anton son, Robert Smith and Frank Spenko of McHenry and Raymond Singer, Jr.,ofSkokie. Ringbearers were Master David Dingle of Crystal Lake and Master Scott Spengel of McHenry. Mrs. Magnine-selected a floor length dress in apricot color, accented with beading. Mrs. McCafferty wore a floor length, royal blue sheath trimmed with jewels and rhinestones. Following a reception at the Sail Inn, Fox Lake, for.350 guests, the couple left on a honeymoon trip into Wisconsin before taking up residence in Kailua Oahu, Hawaii. The bride is a graduate of St. Mary high school in Chicago.
