J MARGARET 0»NEIL Clerk of the Court (Pub Feb. 7, 14, 21, 1969) Recently, Mrs. Pride, leader of Troop 410, along with Mrs. Mitchell, invited some girls from Troop 41 to come and talk to her Juniors about Cadette scouting. The Cadettes arrived at the Presbyterian church in McHenry and started their talks first with the uniform by Donna Humann and Sherri Landin. Next was Debbie Schabow and Laura Smith on challenges and badges and then Celeste Doherty and Beth Howell on troop activities. To round it all up, Linda Smith and Cathy Humann led some games to sign off a part of a challenge. Debbie Schabow, Troop 320, took advantage of the school holiday in honor of Abraham Lincoln and chartered a bus for a trip to the Milwaukee zoo where they toured the zoo and inspected the animals after consuming their nosebag lunches. Mrs. Stilling was in charge of the group and committee mothers, Mrs. Stupey, Mrs. Schooley, Mrs. Kamp and Mrs.Hafer, accompanied the Scouts. After surveying the zoo and groip boarded their bus again and stopped in Burlington, on their way home, where they visited the Nestle's Plantation, where they saw a movie called "The Chocolate Tree". Each of the girls was given a hat and some samples and then were taken through the plant. They arrived back in McHenry at 4:30 tired but happy. This verse is part of the Bible Lesson- Sermon titled "Mind", and will be read in all Christian Science churches this Sunday. Services at McHenry Christian Science society, Lincoln road and Eastwood lane, will begin at 10:30 a.m. One of the selections to be included from the denominational textbook is the following: "Mind is not necessarily dependent upon educational processes. It possesses oi- itself all beauty and poetry/and the power of expressing them. Spirit God, is heard when the senses are silent." (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy). REDUCE SERVICE AT UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE IN AREA The Woodstock office of the Division of Unemployment Compensation at 110 East Jackson street will operate on a new schedule beginning Monday, Feb. 24, according to a statement made by William H. Mitchell, the manager of the Elgin office which furnishes the staff for the Woodstock office. A decreasing claims load has made it necessary to reduce the service to three days a week- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and the times of service will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to Mr. Mitchell, if the claims load increases, the service may be increased to four days, but it doesn't seem that there will be a change in the near future. All mail should be directed to the Elgin office at 76 South Grove avenue, Elgin, 60120, and those claimants who normally report on Thursday, will report on Tuesday, and those who normally report on Friday will report on Wednesday. 7t COMMITS Proms Weddings Summer forma Is Phone 338-4030 on the Square Beajrd S to vail Famous Brands - Woodstock bid You Say A $28,000,000.00 mutual association serving Northern I l l i n o i s since 1925 SERVICES /f Phone 568-7258 Marengo, I l l i n o i s ZION EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (Missouri Synod) 4206 W. Father John Strazalka, Pastor a prayer for everyone "Tonight, I want you to ask God to bless everyone in the whole wide world. "On World Day of Prayer, children in every corner of the globe, grown-ups too, will pray that God will make this world a better place. "Remember last -summer at camp when you called out at the edge of that cliff and your echo came answering back? Well, imagine all the people in the world calling out at once in prayer. Imagine how big the echo would be, and how much it would please God to hear it. "You are lucky because you live here in America, because you have your Church and the right to attend it. So tonight, thank God for things like that, darling, even if you don't entirely understand them. And when you've finished . . . ask Him to bless everyone."
