V In addition to her career as a solo recitalist, Mrs. Delente is distinguished as a fine teacher. She is assistant professor of music at Webster college in St. Louis and has many private piqpils. One of her young students, David Lively, has won several competitions, most notably second prize in the Chopin International Young Artists competition in New York this past December. Mrs. Delente's husband is Dr. Jacques Delente, research scientist and professor of biochemistry at the University of Missouri in St. Louis. They have two children. Her program will include selections by J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Prokofiev as well as by her teacher, Paul A. Pisk, visiting professor of musicology at Washington university. Admission to the concert is free, and the public is cordialty invited to attend. Gail Buchanan Delente, brilliant young artist from St. Louis, will appear in a solo piano recital. Mrs. Delente holds the Ph.D. and Master of Music degrees from Washington university in St. Louis. She has studied on a Fulbright grant at the Ecole Normale and the Sorbonne in Paris and the University of Caen. Her principal teacher in Paris was Jules Gentil. She has also studied with Alfred Cortot, Robert Wallenborn, Jerome Rappaport and Sidney Foster. She was a finalist and gold medal winner in the Viotti International piano competition in Italy in 1965. She has been winner of four Young Artists competitions and has appeared as winner with the St. Louis Philharmonic orchestra, the Albuquerque orchestra, the Amarillo orchestra and in solo recital sponsored by the St, Louis Artists Presentation society. She has played on French National radio, for lecture recitals by Alfred Cortot, and in Concerts throughout France and the midwestern U.S.A. Taylor of Woodstock made a turn off Elm street onto Richmond road into a garage and his auto was struck in the rear by Paris M. York of Elgin. John S. Mazur of 2806 Old Oak drive, and Shirley D. Carlson of 2214 W. Manor lane, both of McHenry, were backing out of a parking lot on Rt. 120 and collided, causing damage only to the second vehicle. Suanne M. Freund of 1507 N. Riverside drive, McHenry, told authorities her auto and another driven by Nancy De- Werdt of 3917 E. Lake Shore drive, Wonder Lake, had stopped for the sign at the south entrance on^rystal Lake road. .Miss DeWerdt started to pull away and Miss Freund looked to the right while doing the same and the autos collided. There was damage to both cars. Gary P. Fleming of 3436 W. Elm street, McHenry, was travelling west on Elm street when Michael P. Linnane of 5112 West Shore drive, McHenry, turning right off Green street onto Elm, slid on gravel, causing the two vehicles to crash.
