For twenty-seven years, with one exception, the club presented two programs annually on the stage of the East campus auditorium, turning over a portion of their proceeds to various charitable causes. But last fall the old auditorium was converted into a facility for team teaching, which has made it next to impossible^, to utilize the room for concert purposes. After considerable discussion, the club was allowed use of the acoustically fine new West campus auditorium on a rental basis which seemed never thoroughly understood by the renters or the club. Unexpected expenses, including piano rental and the necessity for employing an engineer to operate sophisticated lighting equipment, made it impossible for the club to meet the rental cost. However, they were encouraged to request another contract and began rehearsals with the expectation of another West campus presentation. Last Monday evening the secretary and treasurer of the Choral club disclosed the receipt of letters from the school office indicating that a rental increase is almost sure to be adopted April 8 which would bring the total for one rehearsal and two performances to $195, a sum members feel they cannot meet. The club considered two other possible locations but rejected both because they are designed, primarily, as gymnasiums rather than for musical presentations. The singers expressed appreciation for efforts to accommodate them but concluded their business meeting in a quandry over the setting for their April 26-27 program. One suggestion was to offer for sale 900 tickets and one dozen publicity posters to the highest bidder and "tuck away their tunes" for another year. The chorus has planned a program featuring-selections from Romberg's "Student ELIZABETH WOLDT A funeral Mass was offered at 10 o'clock Monday in St. Patrick's Catholic church for Mrs. Elizabeth A.
