The program will have stud2nt participation with a fine gymnastics program presented. This will include simple stunts and tumbling, plus a square dancing demonstration. There will also be a Hawaiian pole dance which helps the children with rhythm arid coordination. Miss Diane Stilling is head-, ing up the program, with Harry May assisting her. There will be approximately forty-five students participating from grades fourth through eighth. Parents are urged to attend this program and to encourage their children in these activities. Friendship Club Meets Saturday For PotTLuck The Friendship club of the First United Methodist church will meet on Saturday evening, April 12 at 6 p.m. in the church dining room for the regular monthly pot-luck dinner and meeting. Area Is Ch Audubon Trip Heronry oi ce For A heronry near McHenry is the exciting destination for Mc- Henry county chapter of Illinois Audubon society's field trip Saturday, April 12. When visited two years ago it was the breeding grounds for more than seventy beautiful herons who were observed flying or standing on their nests. More than thirty nests were active, in use for incubating. Art Conservator Guest Speaker At Opera House The field of conservation is not limited only to land and natural resources. There is also a great deal of work being done in the conservation of great works of art. One of the most outstanding and distinguished figures in this area is Alfred J. Jakstas, conservator of the Art Institute of Chicago. He will present a lecture at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Woodstock Opera House concerning the restoration and preservation of art masterpieces. Mr. Jakstas draws from many years of experience and many "triumphs" in restoration for his discussion. Among his accomplishments as a conservator are such masterpieces as Tiepolo's "Ma:donna of the Rosary" and Giovanni Martinem's ' Judith". Treatment of paintings includes a large variety of methods. Mr. Jakstas has even removed paintings completely from their original wood or canvas and put them on new canvas. The program will be the final one of the season in the Cretive Living Series sponsored by the Women's Guild of the Woodstock Fine Arts association. Activities Are Planned For PWP Members On April 13, a Sunday afternoon at 2:30, a get-together of Parents without Partners, and children for coffee, conversation and bowling at the Crystal Bowl in Crystal Lake. Those attending are asked to bring goodies to pass. Coffee will be slWed. On April 18, a regular meeting will be held at the Crystal Bowl in Crystal Lake at 8:30. Easter Egg Hunt Enjoyed By 37 Area Children Thirty-seven youngsters of all ages gathered at various homes in Millstream subdivision, McHenry, Saturday afternoon to participate in their second annual Easter egg hunt. Each child contributed six eggs and a quarter for the success of the venture. Different age groups gathered in a particular yard and searched for the greatest number of eggs. Prizes were given to the most successful children. Afterward, parents and children gathered on the patio of the Bellich residence for refreshments.
