The first two weeks were spent with her brother, Walter Carey, and wife at their Winter home in Treasure Island, Fla. From there she went on to Washington, D.C., to spend the remainder of her time with her sister, Mrs. J. Albert Woll, and enjoyed cherry blossom time. While there in company with Atty. and Mrs. Woll she visited the grave of President Kennedy and many other places of interest and spent a weekend at Rehobeth Beach, Dela. Mr. and Mrs. John Lonze, former local residents, now of Phoenix, Ariz., were recent visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Drucker. Sister Junella of Milwaukee spent last Thursday in the home of her father, Henry J. Stilling. • Ensign Robert Beautz, wife and children were overnight guests in the Fred Bienapfl home, Thursday, enroute from Mankato, Minn., to Philadelphia where he is stationed. The QFsen family held a get-together- Sunday to celebrate the birthdays of Leslie Olsen, Sr., the Junior Mr s« Les^ lie Olsen and Mrs. Robert Lowe which fall close together. Dinner at a popular eating place near Woodstock was followed by a social afternoon at the James Kline home in Woodstock where birthday cake and ice cream were served. Mrs. Genevieve Justen, Mrs. Isabel Kellner, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Adams and Mrs. Amanda Freund were in Dubuque, Iowa, Saturday to visit the latter* s brother, Rev. John Theobold, who is ill. Mrs. William Martin returned to her home in Sterling Monday after a few days visit with her sister-in-law, Miss Rita Martin. Mrs. Annabel Aicher and brother, Leo Heimer, have returned from a few weeks vacation in Florida where they were guests of their nephew, CK&rles Steilen, arid wife at their new home in Seminole. Enroute they spent a few days with another nephew, John Hoffman, and family in Indianapolis and while in Florida they visited McHenryites, the Albert Barbians at Dunedin and the Walter Careys at Treasure Island. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nye vacationed in Florida and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Carey of Treasure Island. Tom Nye of Loras college spent the Easter vacation with his parents. SERVICE NEWS CHARLES E. MESSEL ETNSN Charles E. Messel, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Messel of 1917 N. Sunset avenue, McHenry, left April 14 for San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he has been assigned to Fort Allen Naval station on the south coast. The young man attended grade and high school in McHenry, graduating in 1966. He attended DeVry Electrical school, from which he graduated in January of 1968. Messel entered the Navy in March of that year, took his boot training at Great Lakes and then completed several schools there during the past year. There were thirteen weeks of,basic electronics, forty-two weeks of Class A communications and radar and four weeks >of teletype terminal maintenance. JAMES NYE James Nye, SK/3, serving on the USS Weiss, is spending his leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nye. He has just completed the West Pacific tour, his ship serving in the Vietnam area for several months.
