CHURCH SEEKS RECORD SUNDAY SCHOOL COAL To have the "largest Sunday School in McHenry county" is the goal for the First Baptist c'.iurch of McHenry "next Sunday, May 3. The entire membership has entered into the spirit of the challenge presented by Tom Jackson, deacon and education secretary for the church. Jackson, though newly elected to his job, has added greatly to the enthusiastic ef^_ forts of the seven-year-old con-" gregation. "I realize this is quite an optimistic goal for so young a church", was Mr. Jackson's comment, " but knowing our church and the support others will give us, I know the goal is realistic". Previous high attendance record was set at 279 two weeks ago. It is felt that 475 would probably be more than have" ever attended any one Sunday school in McHenry county on a specified day. "Our purpose is not just to be the largest school", John Lynch, Sunday school superintendent, hastened to add," but it is that we would have this large number of persons joining together in worship and Bible study here at First Baptist church. As you can see, we will need many others Who are not in Sunday worship to help us reach this goal," Lynch pointed out to the pastor, the Rev. Virgle Chappell. The Baptist Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. and incorporates the morhing worship at 10:50 as part of its program. " We feel that Bible study is not complete in its fullest sense until a person has worshiped", observed Pastor Chappell.
