Maple Hill drive five years ago. We are the proud parents of four wonderful, sons, Tom, 10, Todd, 6% Louis, 5, and little Jay, 1 year old. I have temporarily taken over the duties as reporter , of this column, while Mrs. Levesque takes a well deserved breathing spell. RECEPTION HELD Gary and I were honored to hold a wedding reception in our home for about thirty people, Sunday May 4, for. my nephew, Ken Mavis, and his new bride. Ken and Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of former village residents Emil and Virginia Gibson, were married April 28 in Woodstock. They have taken up residence in Woodstock. At request of those present a special meeting was called by President George Luto. Mr. Luto appointed Jerry Raycraft and * Dave Weber as trustees to 1311 : existing vacancies. Several people have contributed their - time and services to the association. Odom Hubsch lettered signs for beach and park area which will be on display shortly. Those working on park and beach clean-up Saturday April 26 included Don Lorch, A1 Kanak, George Luto, Gene Huff, Gene Freund, Ed Garner, Butch Holden and sons, Gerry Jensen and daughter, Darlene, and her friend, Diane Michels. On May 3 the workers included Leo Reilly, John Wahlberg, Leonard Swedburg, Jerry Raycraft, Gene Freund, Gerry Jensen, Ed Garner and young lad, Terry Orten. THREE CHEERS A chorus of cheers should up for our newly elected officials, Ray Lary, Monty Yates and George Luto, who last Saturday gave up their day of relaxation to patch the holes in our roads. DON PEASLEY PHOTO % Sty Soil Stewardship Week Is Observed May 11-18 Soil Stewardship Week , an annual nation-wide observance, usually in the form of sermons of mankind's divine obligation in the use of soil, water and air will be celebrated locally May 11 through 18, according to Kenneth V. Fiske, chairman of the McHenry County Soil and Water Conservation district. This year's theme "Confronting The Issues" emphasizes man's interdependence on, and responsibility of the land its related resources. Informational booklets have been provided to ministers of fifty-four churches in the county and nearly 11,000 church program inserts and 2,000 church programs for distribution to their members. The materials were prepared by the National Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, in cooperation with a Soil Stewardship Advisory committee composed of leading churchmen of all faiths in the nation. Nearly 3,000 Soil and Water Conservation districts throughout this state and nation are sponsoring this annual observance for the fourteenth consecutive y§ar.
