OUT-PATIENT CARE -- Growing demands for out-patient services at McHenry hospital dramatizes the changing role of the hospital --to a health care facility that serves as a central source of the community's health services. Emergency room cases have risen from 1,656 in 1960 to an expected 8,400 cases in 1969! Mrs. Marianne Whitehead, R.N. (right), and Mrs. Delores Woolwine, nurse's aide, provide calm, effective care in the emergency room. Trained staff is on duty around the clock in this part of the hospital. DON PEASLEY PHOTO RINGWOOD NEWS DOLORES BRENNAN 653-9043 LOCAL WOMAN DIES IN TRAGIC AUTO ACCIDENT Mrs. Dorothy Aissen, a long time resident of Ringwood, was the victim of a car accident. Her husband, Henry, was driving home on the Martin Cutoff road and an oncoming car hit them head on with Mrs. Aissen fatally injured. She was buried from the Ringwood United Methodist church with Rev. Ray Parker officiating on Monday afternoon with burial in the Ringwood cemetery. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the family, including Henry, Dirk, Anna Mae, Jackie and Dorothy. She was truly a friend of all, and will be missed by many, as she was always a happy person to meet. NO. 7 FOR THE VIC HOPPS Vic and Connie Hppp are the proud and happy parents of a 7/2 lb. baby boy, born last Friday morning in Memorial hospital in Woodstock. He was welcomed home with open arms by sisters, Cindy, LindaandMaribeth, and brothers Victor, Tommy and Cris. He will answer to the name of Michael. And he surely is a popular little fella with lots of attention from all. Congratulations to all! COUNTRY COUSIN CRIES AGAIN! Country Cousin, Georgia Bauer, was the victim of a surprise shower in honor of her little offspring, Jennifer, last Wednesday evening, in the home of Mrs. LuAnn Smith, in Johnsburg, when she walked into a houseful of ladies calling surprise! And then the tears came! Georgia thought she was attending an anniversary charivari for an aunt and uncle until the door opened. After the shock wore off, and several were asked why they hadn't told her, she was presented with so many lovely and useful little things from the thirty-five guests. Then, would you believe, the ladies played "spulsie"? I wouldn't, but we did, and lucky Bev Schmitt was the loser, or was it-"* winner? She did get a gift for either. Little Jennifer should be the best dressed little girl in town now. After the games, a buffet was served to all. LINDA LOW RECEIVES DEGREE Walt and Doris Low made their last trip to Dubuque, Iowa, last Friday, along with Pam Low and Leon Van Every. On May 23, Linda received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, which was a moment of triumph for ajl Q£ The guest speaker for the graduation was especially good, according to Doris. He was the Honorable Ferenc Magy, former Prime Minister of Hungary. Doris said the ceremony was long, with benches getting harder by the minute, but it all was unimportant because of the importance of such a ceremony. Our congratulations to Linda on completing her four years of college. The Lows entertained the family on Sunday for supper in honor of Linda's graduation, and also son-in-law, Dave Miller, who also graduated from college. Dave was rated second in his class for electrical engineering at DeVry Tech Institute. He graduated on May 12. Attending were Earl and Virginia Thomas from Holiday Hills, Bob, Susie and Bobbie Low, Marge and Chuck Fernstrom, Grandma Leiser, Chuck and Dorothy Miller, Susie, Donna Lynn and Eddie Erwin, all of McHenry, as well as Pat Miller and family, and Tom, Ray, Pam and Linda Low. The arrow flew straight to the heart of the target. And so, straight to the heart of the matter fly the minds of young people today. In this age of advanced technology and far-flung communication, youngsters are better informed, geographically, politically, scientifically and economically than at any other time. No vague generalities, no sugar-coated probabilities will satisfy them. They want the facts and straiaht-to-the-noint answers. . - " That's why your church recognizes the importance of having trained and devout leaders and teachers for its youth programs. Graduation time salutes these people who give so much of their time and training to the Christian development of our children. Their dedication and devotion reflect their love of God in their ministry to the men and women of tomorrow.
