Patrons on rural routes are encouraged to examine and improve where necessary, the appearance of their mailboxes. The purpose is to call attention to the need for providing mail receptacles which "are designed to protect the mail from the weather, which are neat in appearance and conveniently located. Mailboxes that meet these requirements contribute to a more efficient delivery Operation and improved service. It is of extreme importance that names of owners of rural mail boxes be^sFiown on the side of the box visible to the carrier as he approaches or on the door where boxes are grouped. Patrons are encouraged to group boxes whereever this is practicable especially where a considerable number of boxes are located.
