A correlative passage from "Science and Health with Key to tne Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy reads: "Hie universe, like man, is to be interpreted by Science from its divine Principle ^ God, and then it can be understood; but when explained on the basis of physical sense and represented as subject to growth, maturity and decay, the universe, like man, is, and must continue to be, an enigma." Services at Christian Science society, Lincoln road and Eastwood lane, begin at 10:30 a.m. - "Ail are welcome. *CHANGES ARE STILL POSSIBLE, SCIENTISTS TOLD The power to bring concrete change that characterized the , 4»£e of Jesus is still available ;-Jo'society, some 10,000 Chrisyjian Scientists were told at the - Ctfeibmination's annual meeting '-;rfc€ently. »> - J«That same Christ-power is >Inexhaustibly present today, to >fce manifested in healing the £*jiorl(f s ills just as directly as Iwhen Jesus was on earth --and Citist as radically," said Inman ~l£ Douglass, chairman of The HDtirtetiian Science board of -^Jlfectors. All children have to be registered for the trip by their parent. This can be done at the McKim home, 4803 W. McCullom Lake road. All children will be given name tags to wear. There will be two school buses to transport the children. The buses will leave the beach at 5:30 with a police escort, travel to Crystal Lake where they will join other buses for a caravan to Rockford. They will return home about midnight. This circus is one of the last big time circuses that travels across the country and is a two hour, three ring affair. This will be the Tebala Shrine Temple's eighteenth annual circus and it will be a good one! Sign the kids up now and mark the date on the calendar, July 24. CULLOM - KNOLL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE Officers of the Cullom -Knoll Association are making a canvass of the village, acquainting residents with the organization and recruiting new members. This was planned for last weekend, but was not completed because of Father's Day; They will be out again this Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22. This organization's main function is the maintenance of the beach. It is a good and worthwhile organization, of which we should all be a part. On July 13, Cullom - Knoll Association will have an election of officers, 3:30 p.m. at the beach house. Plans are underway for a festival to be held August 16. LADIES OF THE LAKE The ladies of the Lake held their last meeting of the season Thursday, June 12. Meetings are discontinued until September. All reports were that the rummage and bake sale was quite successful. The ladies were pleased to have as a visitor to the meeting Bev 2illinskas' aunt from Marinette, Wise. Prize winners for the evening were Virginia Karls, Toni Luto, Bev Zillinskas,-Lois Parent!, Cecelia SwecO^earg, Gertrude Murphy, Edith Brendie, Jean Garner, Irene Sales, Irene Johnson and Laura Slater. Bakers for the night were Bev Zillinskas and Louise Berquist. PINK OR BLUE BOOTIES?? Mrs. Marilyn (Geni) Box was a very surprised guest of honor at a baby shower held for her June 5 at her sister's home in McHenry. Hostesses for the affair were her sister Melinda Adams and Miss Joanne Reid, who served refreshments to thirty people. Geni received many lovely gifts from her friends and relatives. LOCAL BOY MAKES GOOD Among the McHenry high school graduates this year is Clifford Morris. Cliff is the son of Mrs. Monica Morris and the late Clifford Morris who passed away in 1958. He is a member of the National Honor society, far which the qualifications are scholarship, service, leadership and character. He is also a winner of an Illinois State scholarship. While in school, Cliff belonged to the Modern Music Masters, Spanish club, Chorus, and Student council. He accomplished all this while working 48 hours a week in a service station. Cliff has proven a person can be anything they set their mind to. He is a good example that not all teen-agers are bad. Our congratulations to a very find young man, and best of luck in whatever you do. You've done the village proud! WELCOME The Miyak family, consisting of mom, Buz, dad, Ron and the Children, Michael, Doug, Lin and Bruce, are now residing at 5303 W. Fountain Lane having just moved here from Johnsburg. GENETIC POTENTIAL A dairyman can cash in on the profits from the genetic progress being made in his herd only when he provides the level of feeding and management necessary to give his cows the opportunity to express their full genetic potential. The wise modern dairyman will challenge each cow early in lactation with high-energy rations and good management to determine her producing ability. 1970 MAVERICK *1995* First car of the '70 s at '60 prices. Father John Strazalka, Pastor w.-V:> He loves her . be lovet her not ... be lovet 4er ... or does be? If only dairy petals could give the answer!' Tben there's that more introspective question: Does she really love bim ... or does sbe not? And that ultimate question-- still a long way off---but getting closer every day: Can theirs be a happy, lasting marriage? Is romance a colossal gambit --or are there basic elements which are predictable? Millions of Christian parents are staking their children's fu° ture on the latter view. They believe that religious education in the Church and religious atmosphere in the borne can foster moral and spiritual maturity. They believe that character as well as love is essential to marriage ... a home ... a family. And they want their sons and daughters to meet others who are being brought up the same way!
