RINGWOOD NEWS DOLORES BRENNAN 653-9049 FETE GRADUATES AT MANY PARTIES IN LOCAL HOMES Ringwoftd was well represented in the McHenry High West Campus commencement exercises held last Wednesday evening in the West Campus gym. Among the more than 300 to receive their diplomas were Mar go Andreas, Kevin Bauer, Bob Brennan, Debbie Betts, Dan Betts, Don Etten, Kevin Freund, Ellen Huska, Bob Klapperich and Nancy Miller. A party was held in the Brennan garage in honor of son, Bob's graduation on Wednesday evening following the exercises. A buffet supper was served to all. JUNIOR HIGH GRADUATION PARTY Resae Ackerman, daughter of the Charles Ackermans, was one of the top five students to graduate from Johnsburg Junior high last Monday evening. Resae also maintained straight A's this year, keeping a trophy all year for this. Also, collecting a monetary trophy from her Gramfea Bruce for the A's. Resae, we are very proud of you, and keep n> the excellent work. SUNSHINE 4-H CLUB NEWS The Ringwood Sunshine 4-H club was called to order aITT" p.m. The pledges were led by Kim Spengel. Roll call was then taken, followed by the reading and approval of the minutes. New business was Michele Rassmussen asking questions of the 4-H check list. Demonstrations were by Leon Tonyan on Mosaics and a talk on lazy daisy cake by Pam Spengel. The next meeting will beheld mi Tuesday, June 17, at 7 p.m. in the church basement. Michele Rassmussen will call the members when the club's field trip is decided on. Meeting was adjourned by Diane Christopher and. seconded by Cindy Bruce. HURT IN RECENT FALL Mrs. Ruby Shepard received bruises on her hand, leg and face when she took a spill in her home recently. She is recovering in her home, and suffered no broken bones. VISITORS FROM GEORGIA Mr. and Mrs. Howard Shepard and sons from Atlanta, Georgia, are spending a week with his mother, Mrs. Ruby Shepard. ATTEND WEDDING Among guests at the wedding on Saturday ot Georgia May Saunders and Bob Quakenbush in Sycamore were Mr. and Mrs. Butch Leonard, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brennan, Bob, Pat and Linday, Mrs. Flora Carr and Miss Mae Wiedrich, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brennan, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brennan and Mrs. Nellie Hepburn. Bob G. Brennan was one of the ushers for his cousin's wedding. The new Mr. and Mrs. Quakenbush will reside in California where Bob is stationed with the Air Force. NO. 8 GIRL FOR MOUGHS On Monday morning, June 16 Bob and Lois Mough became proud parents of a 7 lb. 8 oz. baby girl in McHenry hospital. - The new addition makes Number 8 for the Moughs. She will be greeted at home by sisters, Leslie, 9, Lisa, 5, Gi Gi 3, and brothers, David 6% John 4% Rickey, 2, and Jamie 1. She also has a sister and brother in Chicago, Patricia, 16 and Bob, 13. Congratulations to all of you. BIRTHDAYS, ETC. OOOOOOOOPS! I slipped up royally last week. I forgot one of the mdst important dates to write/My ever lovin' Pop and Mom, the Joe M. Schmitts, celebrated their fifteenth wedding anniversary last Thursday. My apology and love to a wonderful set of parents. Not every daughter gets to attend her folks wedding as I did! Many many more years of wedded bliss to you both. It's a temporary nuisance till the oil substance hardens, but it sure beats eating dust. Also the city is trying to get all the easements mowed the wseds have really sprouted and visibility is extremely poor at corners. All children should be warned of the difficulty in spotting them when they are on the roads at corners. Hopefully the drivers know the hazards too and are also on the lookout for tots. LITTLE LEAGUE The boys are in fullswingfor the baseball season. As soon as I get scores and things all the news will be in the column and we'll bring it up to date. SPECIAL ELECTION Dae to the death of Repre= sentative Jack Hill of Dundee it has been necessary to hold a special primary to choose candidates for the office. A special election will be held on Tuesday, June 24 ,to elect a State Representative to the General Assembly from the 33rd district. Precinct 13 which is the entire Lakeland Park section will vote at the Community House and precinct H which is the entire Lakeland Shores section on both sides of Rte. 120 will vote at FM Television on Rte. 120. The polls will be open from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. and only registered voters are eligible to vote. SWIMMING REGISTRATION Registration for swimming lessons will be held next Wed-' nasday and Thursday at the Community House. On June 25 registration will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on June 26 registration will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Children must be six years of age before Dec. 1. Swimming lessons will be held from Monday, Aug. 11 to Friday, Aug. 22 excluding Saturdays and Sundays. No recreational swimming will be allowed at the West Beach during lesson hours. The hoars and dates will be posed again before the time of instruction. 4-H CLUB BAZAAR - On Sunday, June 29, the Lake land M'jrry-Makers 4-H club will hold an ice cream social and bazaar at the community house. This will be open to the public and will begin at 2:30 p.m. Besides the enjoyment a patron will get satisfaction from helping out a group of youngsters interested in the wholesome pleasures of life. CONSERVATION CLUB MEETING The McCullom Lake Conservation club held its meeting on Thursday, June 19, at the Community House at 8 p.m. All interested residents of the committee surrounding Mc- Cullom Lake are urged to attend these meetings. Joe Meyer has a birthday on the twenty-third and twins Jill and Julie Leopold will be two years old on the twenty - fourth. John Koch will be fourteen on the twenty-fifth and Susan Wautelet will be eleven the same day. Joan Barman and Maureen Johnson will cut a cake on the twenty-seventh and David Cygan will be nine years old. Belated greetings to Kenny and George Lauer who celebrated birthdays earlier in the month. The birthday sheet for June 4 through the eighteenth has been lost and we would appreciate help on some dates. ANNIVERSARY WALTZ To start off the list of June wedding anniversaries June and Bill Mueller are celebrating their sixteenth anniversary on June 20. Mr. and Mrs. John Thilges are celebrating fortyeight years together on June 23. Dorothy and Bill Humphreys have thirty-three years on the credit side as of June' 24. Dorothy and Roy Meineke will be married for twentysix years on June 26 and Helen and Ralph Stippick will celebrate twenty-one years of wedded bliss on the same day. Roy and Helen are sister and brother to make it double happy time. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Michel will celebrate fifty-two happy years, on June 27 and we wish two very fine people a very happy day. Jim and Betty Beno will celebrate eighteen happy years together on the twentyseventh also. STROLLING THROUGH THE PARK red time There is a lot of news this time but due to previous commitments such as Girl Scout day camp and Father's Day, etc. etc., I didn't get them all checked out. Congratulations are in order for all the graduates and some special mentions should be made but that will also have to wait for next week. Several weddings have occur- 3d and oh, boy where does the ip go. Sure hope all the Pops had a fine day last Sunday. Enjoy your gift till the charge bill comos in! They swam bowled and ended the weekend with a visit to Grandma for Father's Day. The Stokes family is moving on June 27 to their hometown of Metropolis, 111.
