SUSAN WILKE TO TEACH AFTER EARNING DEGREE Miss Susan Wilke, daughter q£Mt, and Mrs. Robert Wilke, 1<07 West Sunnyside, McHen ry, has accepted a teaching po sition in the schools of nigh ty ood-High land Park, after re ceiving her bachelor of arts degree June 14 from National College of Education, Evanston- Wilmette. The oldest private colltege for elementary school teachers, National College of Education offers a program of liberal arts in teacher education, a- warding the bachelor of arts degree in the undergraduate school and the master of educa tion in the graduate school. The curriculum includes a strong program work with chil dren throughout the four-year undergraduate course, includ ing student teaching in the jun ior and senior years. GRADUATE Miss Maureen O'Brien, 1006 Essex Court, graduated from St. Patrick's June 7. On June 8 her parents had a lovely grad uation pait&Tor her with forty in attendance to wish her well. ANTICIPATES PICNIC The folks of Wlmspering Oaks are anticipating tne Senior Cit izens picnic, to be held July 12. It will be at the Veterans Ac res at Crystal Lake. Free drinks and ice cream. NEW RESIDENTS New folks, Commander and Mrs. Floyd Belknap, 1005 Es sex Court, came from Great Lakes. He has just retired and they are having a ceremony for him on Saturday morning, and a party for him on Saturday evening. He was a commander in the medical service of the V navy. Angle, Mrs. Belknap, is an ex-nurse, that is how they * met. She has a hobby painting scenery. She is looking for folks who play bridge. They had a choice for re tirement anywhere in the coun try but chose Whispering Oaks. Due to the many'rains, they have inherited a frog pond in their front yard at no extra cost. They have a daughter, Brenda, who graduated from the Indiana University. She will teach at Indianapolis in the Call. Their son, Bruce, is a sophomore at Rockford college. Also new are Mr. and Mrs. Dominik Massarelli, 4720 Ash ley. They are from the north west side of Chicago. Hiey like it out here much, they have been moved in about a month. Their home is beautifully furnished. All they are waiting for is their sod. John and Hazel Noon, 4801 Ashley drive, are new. They are from Niles. Mr. Noon is re tired since March 1964. The Noons have friends out here in Whispering Oaks, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Sghwarz, on Hanley, Mr. Noonjpnl Mr. Schwarz were chMdnood friends, and now meet out here again. NEW BABY Mr. and Mrs. Bert Welker, Jr., are proud parents of a baby girl. Grandparents , Mr. and Mrs. Bert Welker, Sr., are proud too. GOLDEN WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kloser (brother of Ed Kloser, "441ft, Sussex), spent some time in McHenry celebrating their fif tieth wedding inniversary. Thay are from Carroll, Iowa. Bob and Gayle Uhlman, Jr., stopped off to see their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Uhl man, Sr., 1106 Sommerset, on their way home from the Yellowstone National Park. They saw many interesting things and took a lot of pic tures to show their folks of the unusual sights and happen ings. They just missed a big boulder that rolled down in front of them from the mountains. They crane through heavy rains that hit Iowa. VISITORS Mr. and Mrs. H. Therens had their two grandchildren with them for two weeks while their parents went to the west coast for vacation.
