Peter Pierdinock, assistant director of the Chicago Planning Council, will provide this as sistance on a part-time basis to ltelp the newly formed council formulate its by-laws, regu lations and procedures. The quarterly meeting at Au rora was attended by thirty- six persons from thirteen mem ber hospitals of the council. Each hospital is requested to send the president of its board of directors, the president of its medical staff and the ad- mi nstrator to the meetings. George P. Edwards of St. Charles, president, introduced John M. Abell, president of the medical staff of St. Joseph Mercy hospital, Aurora, who has been named to the council executive committee. In this capacity. Dr. Abell provides liaison between the Kane Coun ty Medical Society's compre hensive health care planning council and the Fox Valley Hos pital Planning council. He explained that the coun cil's function is to concern it self with comprehensive health care as. it relates to the in dividual patient, whereas the hospital planning council is con cerned with health care facil ities as related to patient care. According to Mr. Edwards, "The combined efforts of these two groups to coordinate health care will help achieve the goal of the best possible care for all patients." Other business included an interim feasibility report on the establishment of a central ly located Fox Valley high vol tage rehabilitation center. The next meeting of the Fox Valley Hospital Planning coun cil will be held on Sept. 25, 1969, at the Elgin Country Club.
