Ski Show Shenanigan AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL McHenry won the first game in the district finals, 9 to 0, over Downers Grove and lost the final game 8 to 3. It was the strong 4 hit pitching of Tom Janik that helped McHenry to the victory in the first game. Mc Henry's hitting was led by Mike Janik who had 2 hits good for 2 RBPs. Steve Rohrer and Pat O'Connor also had 2 runs batted in apiece. In the second game it was a 2 to 2 ball game going in to the sixth inning when Downers Grove broke open the game with 5 big runs. McHenry could do no more than 1 run in the seventh which Downers Grove matched in the ninth making the final 8 to 3. Art Jackson had a great shot at the course record at Mc Henry Country club on Marine- Festival Day, but had to leave before the round was finished so he could attend the Miss America luncheon.
