Nellie Shotliff and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle McDougall of Wilmot, Wis., to the Shotliff-Wilford forty-sec ond reunion held at Macktown Park, Rockton, on Sunday, July 27. Sixty descendants were pre sent from all towns in the ar ea - Wilmot, Richmond, Har vard, Capron, Rockton, Spring Grove, Mendota and from Wis consin, Madison, Clinton and Beloit. Earlier in the day there was a pouring rain storm but this didn't dampen spirits and the day turned out to be a won derful day of visiting and rem iniscing. ' - ' CHURCH PICNIC The Mount Hope Methodist church and Spring Grove Meth odist church parishioners en joyed a picnic at Fox River Park on Sunday, July 27. VISITORS Mrs. Gertrude Nygren of Chi cago is spending two weeks in the home of her cousin Mrs. Mame Tinney. Recent callers in the home of Mrs. Minnie Pierce were Mr. and Mrs. Wy- land Ferrant and baby daugh ter from Mattoon. Mrs. Fer- rajifc--ts-^&rs. Pierce's grand daughter. Also visiting were Mr. and Mrs. William Young of Long Grove. William is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Earl Young formerly of Spring Grove. Dr. Young was dentist here for many years. Mrs. Tillie May entertained ten ladies on Wed nesday, July 30, for luncheon and cards. VACATIONERS Mr. and Mrs. Bob Buehrer spent ten days in California and Las Vegas, Nevada. As of now the les sons are scheduled through 1 p.m. each day and the beach will absolutely be closed to all recreational swimming dur ing class time. The corn roast which will be held on Saturday, Aug 9, is an annual West Shore Beach affair. One of the events held in con junction with the corn roast will be sponsor ed by the McCul- lom Lake Conservation Club and only the proceeds from that event will be used for their lake improvement plans. Signs are posted on Ringwood road direc.ing patrons to the corn roast and from past years it is well worth your while to attend.
