Mrs. Welker spent Monday in Milwaukee. Her sis­ ter, Sister Gervase, is hospi­ talized there so Lu visited her* ENTERTAINS FRIENDS Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hansen from Phoenix, Ariz., old time friends of Mr. and Mrs. H. Sass on Ashley spent a week here, reminiscing. Mrs. Sass was the guest of the mayor's wife, Mrs. Don Doherty, at the McHenry Women's club fill lun­ cheon and enjoyed the hula his­ tory of Hawaii. Mrs. Marion Kauth had her two aunts with her for a week, Mrs. Ma lone and Miss Hoffman. Yesterday they were at Port Washington, Wis., and each day they would see new places of interest. NEW RESIDENTS Mr. and Mrs. Sven Carlson, .1112 N. Cumberland Circle have been in their new home Ave weeks. They have their lawn all in and things look like they have been there for some time. They are from Prospect Heights. Mrs. Carlson cans everything she can get her hands on. She is a busy bee. She sews well too. She has two very blond children, 7 and Lin­ da, 3. Mr. Carlton is retired. His hobby is carpentry. He said when they first came out to look their new foundation over he fell in all the way, in mud all over, but now all is well and they are happy here. Mr. and Mrs. Sigried Von- der Linden, 4722 Cumberland Circle, came from Lake Bluff. Mr. Vonder Linden was trans­ ferred out to Crystal Lake, that is why they are here in Whis­ pering Oaks. Mrs. Vonder Lin­ den says she is somewhat lone­ ly, so we will have to make her feel less lonely. Their son, Fred, is a high school leacher at Maschutah, HI. He is mar­ ried and they have two boys, Timothy and Christoffer. Mrs. Vonder Linden loves to work with flowers, that is her hobby. Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Nor- bet, 4620 Front Royal, have moved here from West Frank­ fort, 111. They lived there for 49 years. If Mr. Norbet stays well until next year, they will be married 50 years then. Since Mr. Norbet is ill Mrs. Norbet says the neighbors have been just wonderful to them, espec­ ially, Mrs. Brannock, 1020 Chesterfield. She has been most helpful. The Norbets have a son, Walter, Jr., who lives in Wash­ ington, is married and is in the Civil Service department, and his wife works for a congress­ man. The Norbets have a duagh- ter also, Kathern Lehnuri, who lives in Chicago and has a son, James, who attends high school there. They are happy their par­ ents have found such a nice area in which to live. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Gelardi, 4509 Ashley, were at their grandson's birthday party. It was a pretty lawn party, the little boy was 2 years old and his name is Timmy Stuit, and he lives in Lindenhurst. His grandmother made all the cook­ ies for the party and is pretty proud of her grandson. The Gelardis had an aunt, Mrs. Storto, and her two daugh­ ters spend two days with them The daughters are Louise and Jose. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schuckroy of Northbrook and Mr. and Mrs. William Hend­ ricks of Crystal Lake will be steak dinner guests at the Lloyd Wehrheims, 914 Hampton. Mr. and Mrs. Davis hadtheir niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Hal McLaughlin, from San Jose, Cal., for guests a few days. Julie Fenwick Enters Ripon Julie Fenwick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fenwick, 3719 Waukegan road, McHen­ ry, entered Ripon college this fall. Julie is one of over 400 stw-' dents at Ripon, a traditionally small, coeducational, private college. Total enrollment this year topped 1,000 for the first time in the college's 118-year history.
