CHAMBER BOUQUETS " To the Public: "Much credit should be given to the members of the McHenry Chamber of Commerce, not only for their idea of a Chamber of Commerce public auction, but also to the members of the Chamber and their friends who gave freely of their time to hold the auction at the McHenry band shell in the city park. The Chamber members who donated the items for the auction should be proud of another FIRST for the McHenry Chamber of Com merce with the fine outstanding auction. A fine job was done by Bob Brennen, who came in irom Ringwood to help Mike Wieser as auctioneers; much credit also to Mike Wieser and his personnel who worked the com plete auction. The auction moved along well with the help of Larry Lund and Dick Wil- helm, who made it possible for the Chamber's auction to go down in history for having the most attractive clerks, Mrs. Lund and Mrs. Wilhelm, who were assisted by George Thompson. William McCarron and Pat Shaw moved things along pretty fast to keep up with both Wieser and Brennen in keeping tab on all the buyers, and Frank Low along with Clint Claypool, both hard working Chamber members with many years of Chamber work, did a good job with the lunch wagon. I visited with many people at the auction and heard nothing but compliments and how much they enjoyed themselves. It is my opinion that under the lea dership of Chamber President Larry Lund and his officers, the membership will give Mc Henry a growing and hard work ing Chamber of Commerce that all will be proud of and happy with as each month passes. It makes people like myself stand taller when I say McHenry is RIDAY, OCT. 3, 1969- PLAINDEALER - PG. 9 ALL-OUT WAR MADE ON WATER, AIR POLLUTION The Concerned Citizens For Clean Air and Clean Water will hold a meeting Oct. 5, 12:45 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 3100 S. 31st street, Springfield.
