SENATOR TELLS FEATURES OF ILLINOIS IBI During the recent session of the General Assembly, several Republican-sponsored bills de signed to curb the soaring crime rate in Illinois were passed. Ac cording to Senator Berning of Deer field, one of the most im portant of these bills was that which created the new state wide investigative unit, the Ill inois Bureau of Investigation. "The main responsibility of the IBI, Illinois' little FBI, will be to combat organized crime throughout the state," Senator Berning said. "Organized crime has become highly mo bile, flexible, and extremely complex, and it is a threat to our entire state. As a result, it is imperative that Illinois develop a single state-wide agency capable of responding to this challenge." Antoher duty of the IBI will be to offer assistance to local law enforcement agencies in solving their local crimes. It will also be concerned with traf fic in dangerous drugs and nar cotics in Illinois. /FAMILY POT LUCK, Tarragon is an excellent herb to use when preparing fish and shellfish.
