FRIDAY, t>CT. 31, 1969 - PLAINDEAI ER - PG. 5 occurred on the McCullom Lake blacktop, east of the railroad WILLARD SCHULTZ Willard Schultz, 61, 5112 W. Fountain lane, McCullom Lake, died instantly last Tuesday, Oct. 28, about 2:30 p.m. following a one-car crash. The accident > McCull of the tracks. The victim was on his way to Mc Henry hospital to visit a friend who was a patient there. Details of the accident appear elsewhere in the Plain- dealer. His wife, Theresa, was visit­ ing the couple's only daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Lynne) Benson, in Carpentersville when the tragedy took place. Mr. Schultz was born Nov. 20, 1907, in Chicago to Alma (nee Wholer) and Charles Schultz who preceded him in death. He married Theresa J. 01- sen, Oct. 11, 1930. They had just celebrated their thirty- ninth wedding anniversary. Their first child, a girl, suc­ cumbed In infancy. Lynne D. was born in 1948. The couple moved to McCul­ lom Lake permanently in 1948. They had been summer res- idents since 1930. .It was just one year ago that Mr. Schultz retired as a pipe­ fitter and welder from Proctor and Gamble after thirty-five years of employment. Visitation was held at the George Justen and Son funeral home after 7 p.m., Wednesday. Pastor David Allin, Nativity Lutheran church, Wonder Lake, officiated at 2 p.m. services Thursday. Burial was in Wood­ land cemetery, McHcnry. In addition to his wife and daughter, Mr. Schultz is sur­ vived by three sisters, Mrs. Edna Muttschel, Mrs. Samuel (Edith) Tamburino and Mrs. Lorraine Simmons and one brother, Arthur, all of Chicago. He was fond of raising sapling willow trees and presenting them to friends for gifts. He was a partner in the Jake-Will Food shop for three years and was elected a trustee of the first board of village officials when McCullom Lake incorporated in 1955.
