Ahitow, commun­ ity school director, has an­ nounced that enrollment for the fall semester adult education program had a record number of classes in progress. He con­ tinued to say that over 900 peo­ ple are presently enrolled in classes and that there were fifty- six classes in session through­ out the week. The majority of adult educa­ tion classes are held at West campus, but all schools are used throughout the week. West cam­ pus adult education students en­ joy the availability of a snack bar which is open every eve­ ning to provide adult students a place to get a cold or hot drink, have a cigarette and sit and discuss what they were learning in their classes. Some of the more popular classes this semester have been Men's Basketball, Volleyball, Jogging and Swimming; Wo­ men's Slimming through Exer­ cise and Activities; Investments and Securities; Men's and Wo­ men's Judo Instruction, Begin­ ning and Intermediate Sewing; Furniture Upholstering; Art; Horse Grooming; Antiques Bookkeeping; Hairstyling, and many more. The community school office is now in the process of ar­ ranging details for the spring semester of adult education program. Spring semester will begin the first week in Feb­ ruary. SCHEDULE COUNTY BOARD MEETING VETERANS DAY The Education and Public Re­ lations committee of the Mc­ Henry county board of super­ visors announces that the No­ vember county board meeting will be held on Nov. 11, Veter­ ans' Day (a legal holiday) to allow the public to attend if they so desire. Other offices in the courthouse will be closed on that day. There are many businessmen who are unable to attend the meetings and it is hoped they will take advantage of the op­ portunity on this holiday. County board meetings are held at 9 a.m. in supervisors' room in the Annex. Lorenz, whose mother, Mrs. Katherine Lorenz, lives at 302 Circle drive, Is­ land Lake, was promoted to Army specialist four recently while assigned to the 2nd Infan­ try division in Korea. Spec. 4 Lorenz is an arm­ ored reconnaissance specialist in Troop B, 4th squadron of the division's 7th cavalry. He entered the Army in December, 1968, completed basic training at Ft. Polk, Ga., and was sta­ tioned at Ft. Knox, Ky., be­ fore arriving overseas last May. His wife, Debbie, lives in Whitehall, Mich. Regulations For Burning Fire Chief Glenn Peter­ son has issued the following regulations in effect within the McHenry Township Fire Protection district: Open burning will be done only on a fire department permit.
