The Telephone Pioneers is a group composed of Western Electric and Bell system em­ ployees with twenty-one or more years of service and was formed to provide a means of friendly association for both active and retired members, and to promote among them a continuing fellowship and a spirit of mutual helpfulness. Current membership of Haw­ thorne Chapter 45, Telephone Pioneers, is about 12,800.
