GIRL SCOUT TROOP 320 Troop 320 had flag ceremony given by Patrol 3. We collect ed calendar money. Then we talked about a Christmas party. Every girl is to bring nine Christmas cookies and a 50 cent grab bag gift. Treats were ser ved by patrol 2. We played games. One of the games show ed who were good sports. All the good sports went into the kitchefa and were called out one* at a time to follow the mo tions of the leaders. All proved to be good sports. We ended the meeting by singing Christ mas carols. Troop Scribes, Linda Vick and Joan Lingeman. BIRTHDAY GREETINGS Our very best birthday wishes to Myrtle Sullivan on Dec. 19 and to John Meurer who will be elev en on the twentieth. The twenty-third is the big day for Nedra Eckhart, the birthday cake lady, and for Laurie Per ry and Renee Mercure who will be three years old on the same day. Tom Bockman and Dorothy Lense are Christmas Eve kids and Pat Spoto is a genuine Christmas Day baby. Steve Par is! will celebrate his eighth birthday Dec. 26. ANNIVERSARY WALTZ Millie and Charles Pintozzi are celebrating their forty-sec ond wedding anniversary on Dec. 19 while Liz and Fritz Borchert add another year on Dec. 23. She is one of the oldest residents of this vicin ity as well as one of the pio neers of this country, coming here with her parents when a very small child. She has the unique distinction of being the only living white woman who had a i. son in the civil war. Fred Ferwerda, owner of the Riverside Dairy, met with a very painful and serious ac cident when the ammonia tank of the ice machine exploded, burning him severely. At a meeting of the McHenry County Real Estate Board held at Paul Gault's office in Mar engo, Roy A. Kent of McHenry was re-elected president for the coming year. Harold Jepson of Ringwood and a graduate of McHenry high school has been chosen as one of the leading characters in the annual production of the Junior class of Mount Morris college, "The Goose Hangs High," to be presented in the college chapel. Mrs. John Pitzen, 65, passed away at her home in Johns- burg, Dec. 6, following an ill ness of about three weeks. (Taken from the files of Dec. 17, 1959) Total operations performed at McHenry hospital during No vember 1959 hit an all time high for the three years the institution has been in operation according to figures released by the hospital. There were 180 operations performed during the month. It has been announced through the chancery office of the Rock- ford diocese that the Rev. John L. Daleiden of Spring GroVe will take a new pastorate at St. Joseph parish, Freeport, suc ceeding the late pastor, Rev. Nicholas Berg. Since 1933, Fa ther Daleiden has been pastor of St. Peter's church, Spring Grove. The McHenry Rotary club is sponsoring its second annual kiddie show for McHenry grade school children, first through fifth grade Dec. 23 at the Mc Henry theatre. The attractions that day will be "Snowfire" the wild white stallion, and Our Gang Comedy, Three Stooge comedy and two cartoons.
