BOWLING NEWS Th% current standings for the Couples Bowling league show the Gutter Cleaners in first place with 24-8 followed by the Dum Dum's In second with 23-9. The R-B's are third with 22-10 and the Chex are fourth with 18-14. The Swingers have 15)5-16% for fifth place and the Apples have 14%-17^ for sixth. The Playmates are seventh with 14-18 and the Schmoos and Fol Doms are tied for eighth with 13-10 each. The Gamblers and Alley Cats each have 12-20 for tenth place and the Four Sixes are holding up the league with 11-21. The league is bowling again on Saturday night and the line­ up shows the Dum Dums and the Alley Cats on 1 and 2. The Gamblers meet the Schmoos on 3 and 4 (sounds like the title of an old science fiction movie!) The R-B's and the Swingers will be on 5 and 6 and the Chex and the Four Sixes are slated for 7 and 8. The Playmates and the Apples will be on 9 and 10. The Gut­ ter Cleaners and the Fol Doms will be on 11 and 12. LITTLE LEAGUE The regular monthly meeting of the Lakeland Park Boys Baseball League will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. All interested adults are invited to attend these meetings. It isn't necessary to have a boy in the league to help out. Meet­ ings are held at the communi­ ty house. The main item on the agenda is the upcoming roller skating party to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Just For Fun roller rink on Rt. 31. Skating for the entire family will begin at 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Shoe skates will also be available for those who require them. Tickets are being sold currently by all the managers of the Little League program and will also be sold at the door. WOMAN'S CLUB As you probably noted in oth­ er parts of the paper the time of the Woman's Club meetings has been changed from evening to 12:30 p.m. The day will re­ main the same with the next meeting scheduled for Thurs­ day, Feb. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the comminity house. Hos­ tesses for the day will be Kay Luing, Italia Mazzoni, and Ce­ cilia Oakford. The ladies will be planning for the annual spring luncheon which will be held in April at the American Legion on Ringwood road. BIRTHDAY GREETINGS A very happy birthday to Danny Koch who celebrates his fourteenth birthday on Jan. 24. Susan Hautzinger will be five years old on the twenty-fifth. Ron Creutz will need a fire per­ mit for his cake on the twen­ ty-sixth and John Reining, Al­ ma Walsh and Catherine Kohrt all celebrate on the twenty- seventh. A lovely daughter named Lin­ da Beth was born on Thursday, J&n. 15 at 11:30 a.m. She weigh­ ed 7 lbs. 8 ozs. at birth. She completes the family circle of Bob' and Jessie And chil­ dren, Bob who is 17, Nancy who is 14, Carole who will be nine and Richard who is 5. The Matthews moved to Mary­ land several years ago but still consider this home base. The proudest grandparents around are Clare and Eleanor Haerle of Willow Lane. CONDOLENCES Our very deepest sympathy is extended to Leonora Abbott on the passing of her dear husband, Dick, on Tuesday, Jan. 20. He had been a patient at Memorial hospital for several weeks be­ fore returning home on Sunday. The Abbotts have beenjieigh- bors for eleven years and have been very interested in com­ munity affairs. Services were to be held on Thursday afternoon from the Peter Justen funeral home. Mr. Abbott had one son, Richard, and eight grandchil­ dren. PERSONALS MILK PRICES A superpool blend price of at least $5.34 per hundredweight will be paid dairy farmers for Grade A milk delivered during December to Chicago market plants within zone 1 of the Chi­ cago regional federal milk or­ der. The December producer price is 2 cents higher than the November blend and 28 cents more than the December 1968 price, despite the fact that De­ cember daily milk production in the regional order pool was 1,250,000 pounds above the No­ vember daily average. Produ­ cer prices for December were boosted to the record-high lev­ els as a result of higher prices being paid by handlers for Class I (bottling) n?ilk, beginning Dec. 1. 1 Despite the extreme cold weather folks were here from Evansville and Kenosha, Wis., Rockford, Chicago, Palos Heights, Waukegan, Liberty- ville, Gumee and Deerfield to help Mr. and Mrs.\Fred Scho- ewer celebrate their golden wedding last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Savini of Elgin were weekend guests of her mother, Mrs. Alfons Adams, and on Sunday she ac­ companied them to Mundelein where they were dinner guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Murray. The Savinis are leaving this weekend for Bloomington where they ,-will make their home while he is finishing his college work at Illinois State university. Mr. and Mrs. Math Adams and Miss Carolyn Bauer re­ turned recently from a ten day trip by plane to Phoenix, Ariz., where they visited the former's daughter, Mrs. Richard Brown, and husbnad and also did much sightseeing. Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Keefe of Seaford, Long Island, N.Y., were guests in the home of her sister, Mrs. LeRoy Smith, a few days last week. Mrs. Pdarl Patzke of Bond- ville, 111., spent a few days last week with McHenry rela­ tives. „ • Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomp­ son left Tuesday by car for Omaha, Nebr., to attend the funeral of her sister, a former Omaha resident but late of Cal­ ifornia where she passed away unexpectedly. Mr. and Mrs. David L. Smith entertained relatives in their home last Sunday w*here lun­ cheon and dinner were served to Mrs. James Dorothy) Mit­ chell and Mr. and Mrs. Carol Galdt of Chicago. The Smiths' children, David, Jr., Mary Beth and Lori Kay were on hand to enjoy the company of their aunt and cousins while Mr. Galdt and Mr. Smith braved the cold weather to go hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Schae- fer entertained* a group of friends at dinner and cards on Jan. 12 honoring Mr. Schaefer who was 74 years young on that day. Folks were present from Lake Geneva and Pell Lake. Last Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Schaefer were entertained at dinner and cards a^the home of Mrs. Helen Bishop in Pell Lake. . S/5 Richard Greig, his wife, Diane, and children, 3% year old Steven, and 11 month old Kim- berly, are visiting his parents, Sam and Patricia Tomasello.
