Political Corner ENDORSES SMITH Illinois Senator Karl Bern- ing (R-Deerfield) of the 32nd district in Lake and McHenry counties has endorsed U.S. Sen ator Ralph T. Smith (R-Alton). Inez Young 385-4672 Fire Department Urges Residents Number Houses I recently received a call from' Dan Kinnerk, volunteer fireman of McHenry Township Fire Department, Company 3, which Is the fire department that protects 'A here fa HsUdsy Hills. The purppse of the call was to notify y6d of a dan gerous situation which^exists in our subdivision. Many '61 our homes do not have house nunw bers on them. Most of us know that the Harpers live in a gray house and the Mahons live In a green house, etc., but PU bet a lot of us don't know that the street that they live on is Drift wood Drive or Birch Street, or what the address is. Danny pointed out that in case of a fire, the party calling in will give the address, but unless the fire is so sever that smoke is pouring out of the doors and windows, the firemen waste val uable time searching for the right house. / The same frightening situa tion would exist if the rescue squad or an inhalator were called. Precious seconds which might save the life of a loved one are lost because your home is not marked. If you don't have your ad dress clearly visible on your home, why not do so NOW-- before there is a tragedy. H.H.p.O.A.
