He showed the students signs that were used on the weather map for tele­ vision in the United States and other countries. He also gave the groiqj interesting facts about all kinds of storms. Tom Maenner, sixth grader, presented Mr. Volkman with a boutonniere which Mr. Volk­ man later wore on his after­ noon and evening television pre­ sentations. Mr. Volkman donated a book to the school library, this book told about behind-the-scenes of television programs. These programs were produced by the WGN television station. He also presented the students with postcards showing the televis­ ion program in which he gives the weather. < Students were able to ask Mr. Volkman many questions concerning weather.
