Making the chapter night complete, membership was held for Doris Kretzschmar, spon­ sored by CarolynSima, and Judy Ballew, and Sandra Hodgson, sponsored by Eileen Hodgson, n Marcella Carlson and Kay Ms- honey acted as pro tem spon­ sors. * College of Regents Chair­ man Alyce Kowal and College Members Eunice Tobey, Marge Fernstrom, Ethel Bruce, Olga Johnson and Mabel Thomas were in charge of the program and refreshments. Chapter members have been invited to the following Star Recorder Night programs: Elk- horn, Aug. 3; Fox Lake, al­ so on Monday, Aug. 3; River Grove No. 780, on Friday, Aug. 7; (Margaret Walsh will be the guest speaker); Cicero No. 747 on Sunday, Aug. 9; and DesPlaines No. 835 on Thurs­ day, Aug. 13, at 8:30 p.m. All included a special in­ vitation to our1 Star Recorder chairman, Olga Johnson, and all requested that formals be worn. Mercedes Morenz and Bon­ nie Heinz received special a- wards, but the attendance a- ward went unclaimed. Just, a reminder that the L.O.O.M. is having its steak dinner this Saturday, July 11. The charcoal broiled steaks will be served from 7 to 9 p.m. and dancing will begin at 9:30. Senior Regent Eileen Hodg­ son called for a meeting of her executive board and chair­ men on Thursday, July 9. Our next meeting is on July 21. Henberg, Mrs. Peggy Thomas, Mrs. Pat Schooley, director of screening; and Mrs. Dorothy Leuse are shown at the first meeting of the hearing and visual screening program for pre-schoolers planned as a Lake-McHenry regional project in cooperation with the Illinois State Department of Public Health, the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness and Mc­ Henry School District 15. The amblyopia or "Lazy Eye" program will be conducted at Edgebrook school, McHenry, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 13-14. On July 20, the re- screening also will be held at Edgebrook. Arrangements are being made by the local Jay- cees. FRIDAY, JULY 10, 1970 John 'Wysocki 0 Named Manager; Social Security < s John F. Wysocki, 41 has been appointed district manager of the Waukegan Social Security Administration district office which services the 46,061 ben­ eficiaries in Lake and McHen­ ry counties. Wysocki replaces Bernard Barnett, who died April 19. He also worked as Barnett's as­ sistant prior to his assignment as assistant manager in Mil­ waukee last July. The new manager will be re­ sponsible for the administra­ tion of the Social Security pro# gram including Medicare in Lake and McHenry counties and for the operation of the Wau­ kegan district office and its staff of forty-one. Wysocki began his career with Social Security in 1961 as a claims representative in - PLAINDEALER - PG. 9 Milwaukee and later held in­ creasingly responsible po­ sitions in Chicago prior to coming here as assistant man­ ager in 1968. He and his wife, Janet, Have four children, Kathleen 13, Sharon 11, John 9, and Laurie 6. The family plans to locate in the Waukegan area prior to the start of the school year.
