Neilsen, pro prietor of the Neilson Service Station on Route 20 just east of the Fox River bridge, died suddenly from a heart attack Dec. 15 at his home in Oak Park. Some fine fruit has been re ceived by relatives from Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Sayler of Belle- view, Fla., who are spending the winter in the sunny south land. Large grapefruit, oranges and tangerines comprised the boxes. Between Jan. 5 and 15 chil dren in our schools will be given the third opportunity to be vaccinated against smallpox. The community dairy re cently purchased a five ton International truck which will be used to transport milk to its plant in Chicago, where whole sale milk and cream is handled. Mr. M. Polcyn, the new owner, reports that his business is growing rapidly. A party of friends surprised Peter Weingart at his home east of this city Saturday evening in honor of his birthday anni versary. A new -'Service Headquar ters" building project for Crys tal Lake to cost $175,000 has been announced by the Public Service Co., of Northern 111- -inois, in a statement made by E.J. Larking, Local District Manager. Work on the project will start shortly. Paul Gerasch left on Wed nesday of last week for his home in Simlayson, Minn., where he was called by the ill ness of his father. A good time is in store for those who attend the party at the Bridge Ballroom, McHenry, on New Years Eve. Music will be furnished by the Red Devils. TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Dec. 20, 1945) An untimely passing cast a dark shadow over a McHenry home and also robbed that home of the holiday spirit this past week when Mrs. Gwendolyn Ov erton Jones died at the home of her parents, Mayor and Mrs. R.I.
